Scared
Venke Knutson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So i'm alone again
raising my clock to get home again
and you're likeable and memoreble
all at once
just drive to find my place
making my way out of this mess
as I'm waiting, watching time goes by
and I'm scared the morningpaper
tells me you're gone
and you were there
behind the sun
and over the moon
I'll be with you soon
But I'm here and you're there
whats this fase
someone set it wrong place

I wait to join
watching the flipside of this coin
well, you're miserable, controlable and changeable
all at once
And still I wait to run
Maybe this time I'll come and done
as I'm waiting, watching time goes by

and I'm scared the morningpaper
tells me you're gone
and you were there
behind the sun
and over the moon
I'll be with you soon
But I'm here and you're there
whats this face

I speak but you wont here
as I try but you wont see
I wait for you to show
I miss you when you're near
cause I'm here
the morningpaper
tells me that you're gone
and you were there
behind the sun
all over the moon

cause im scaaaaaaaaaaaared
so scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaared

and I'm scared the morningpaper
tells me you're gone
and you were there
behind the sun
and over the moon
I'll be with you soon
But I'm here and you're there
whats this fase
someone set the wrong place

so im alone again
raising the clock to get home again

and you're likeable and memorerable
all at once

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Venke Knutson’s song Scared tells a story of a person who is in love with someone else but cannot be with them because there seems to be a distance between them. The singer of the song is waiting for the opportunity to be with this person they love so much, but they are also scared that it might not happen because of something or someone. The idea of someone or something setting things in the wrong place is a recurring theme in the song, it subtly suggests the possibility that there are external factors that might be responsible for keeping the singer and their lover apart.

The opening verses of the song illustrate the state of mind of the singer who feels alone even though they are with someone they like. They yearn to be with someone else, who is both likable and memorable, but they cannot because of uncontrollable circumstances. Throughout the song, the singer switches between being scared and hopeful about the prospect of being reunited with their significant other. The inclusion of the image of the morning paper and the notion that it informs the singer that the person they love is gone is quite powerful because it emphasizes the sort of disruption caused by a breakup or a separation.

Overall, the song is an emotive depiction of the experience of loving someone from afar and the uncertainty that comes with it. It offers a sincere expression of anxiety, hope, and frustration that comes with unrequited or distance love.

wuldnt say english is a foreign language for most norwegians. pretty much every single norwegian knows english, and most of us are fluent. so her challenges are not to sing in a foreign language, but to do what every other songwriter/singer does. sell their product. and i must say, she is very talented! and she looks very norwegian!!

Zack Kim B

damn, she's awesome!

Palomar

pity she didn't become international. Artists other than north america or united kingdom find it difficult to become highly popular. However Roxette did it, they are from sweden
