Shooting Star
Veronica Falls Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A shooting star to fall
Fall so far
Seeking out
A four leaf clover
To help my doves
And pull me out oh oh oh oh
A shooting star to point me in the right direction
Seeking out
A four leaf clover
To help my doves
And figure out
You could pull me out
You could pull me out
You could lead the way
Looking for?
A shooting star to fall
To fall so far
Seeking out
A four leaf clover
To help my doves
And figure out
You could pull me out
You could pull me out
You could pull me out
You could lead the way
Looking for?
A shooting star to point me in the right direction
Looking for?
A shooting star to point me in the right direction
Looking for?
A shooting star to (fall) point me in the right direction
Seeking out
A four leaf clover?
The lyrics of Veronica Falls's "Shooting Star" is a heartfelt reflection of the human search for hope and direction. The repetition of the lines, "Looking for a shooting star to fall so far" and "Seeking out a four-leaf clover" denotes the singer's desperate search for something magical that could help them out of their current situation. The shooting star represents a moment of serendipitous luck or opportunity that could change the singer's life forever. Similarly, the four-leaf clover stands for an elusive key that could unlock the doors to happiness and success.
The line "to help my doves" is a metaphorical expression, where "doves" signify hope, goodness, and purity of heart. The singer seeks guidance to elevate themselves from a state of despondency and uncertainty. The lyricist reinforces this idea by repeating the words, "You could pull me out, You could lead the way," projecting the singer's willingness to be led by someone who could guide them towards a better future.
