One of the great undiscovered soul gems of the '60s. I once saw the Vibrations in Chicago on the same bill with Patti LaBelle and The Blue Bells and ... wait for it ... the Rolling Stones! I have to say that Patti LaBelle blew everyone away, but the Vibrations were awesome as well.

Wait! Wait! Patti blew the Vibrations away?? They were dynamite on stage!

Right on to Natural Soul Bro for very soulful posting of Love in them There Hills by the extraordinary talented group The Vibrations...I first recognized their fine talents when I heard their recording of "Wallflower" around the year 1962...flipside of the excellent "The Watusi "....talent like theirs does not exist today in the field of rhythm and blues rock and roll.

One of Gamble-Huff's early productions. As little schoolkids, we would try to pick out the bassline on the piano. I didn't realize it was a real song until a few years later.

Mrs. Lawrence, took me to my first live concert and this group along with Jerry Butler, Joe Tex, Sweet Inspiration and James Brown and his Band. Joe Tex, "Skinny Leg" contest was hilarious. The whole concert was simply wonderful.

Great record feat Leon Huff on piano with Ronnie Baker on bass, Earl Young on drums with Roland Chambers & Norman Harris on guitar and Larry Washington on percussion.

The Vibrations were one of the best groups, that i ever saw at the Apollo Theater period.
Maxine Boatwright
Great song and a amazing group extremely entertaining. Very funny on stage one of the members can not remember his name. A fixture at the Uptown Theater. There were a lot of good groups in that era. But they should have been worldwide. I think Carl the lead singer is still alive.
