Friday Night
Vigiland Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Friday night
Put my backpack on to do my thing
But the bouncer wouldn't let me in
He just stood there with a stupid grin

Last time I went on crying
But I kept trying
'Cause he don't know the moves that I'm supplying
I'll take my glasses
I'm gonna bounce back up
And kick some asses
I've waited long enough

You think you own me
You don't control me
You think you hurt me
Saying that I'm freaky
You're just afraid
I'm here to stay
Just 'cause I'm different
I should've walked away

You think you own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you
(Okay) own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you

You're a freak
Don't belong 'cause you're alone and weak
But I'm just as cool as I am geek
Mr. Power I am all on fleek

And this time I won't be crying
No, I'm not buying
You know the slide as the moves that I'm supplying
I'll take my glasses
I'm gonna bounce back up
And kick some asses
I'm 'bout to call your bluff

You think you own me
You don't control me
You think you hurt me
Saying that I'm freaky
You're just afraid
I'm here to stay
Not gonna be that geek who walked away

You think you own me
You don't control me
You think you hurt me
Saying that I'm freaky
You're just afraid
I'm here to stay
Just 'cause I'm different
I shouldn't walk away

You think you own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you
(Okay) own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you

Own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you
You think you own me
I control you

You think you own me
I control you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Vigiland's song "Friday Night" portray a story of a person who is being prevented from entering a club by the bouncer. But instead of giving up and walking away, the person decides to take control of the situation by "bouncing back up" and showing the bouncer and others in the club the moves that he/she is "supplying". The person asserts that just because they are different, it does not mean they should walk away or be ashamed of it. They go on to declare that they control the bouncer and not the other way around. The lyrics suggest that the person is confident in their uniqueness and is not afraid to stand out and be themselves.

The song celebrates individuality and confidently challenges societal pressures to conform. It exemplifies the idea that it is important to be true to oneself and not let anyone else define or control one's identity. Moreover, it encourages the listener to be proud of who they are and not be afraid to express themselves even if it may be seen as "freaky" by others.

@@ake_zerberus9752 It's not that hard. I learned it quite quickly, only for it to look decent you gotta practice a lot. And even tons more to get it like he can.
