All Who Are Thirsty
Vineyard Worship Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All who are thirsty
All who are weak
Come to the fountain
Dip your heart in the stream of life
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of his mercy
As deep cries out to deep
(We sing)

Come Lord Jesus come

Holy Spirit come

As deep cries out to deep

Overall Meaning

This song All Who Are Thirsty by Vineyard Worship is a touching and uplifting call to all those who are thirsty and weak to come to the fountain of life and dip their hearts in the stream of life. The song is an invitation to all people who are burdened with pain and sorrow to come and wash out their troubles in the waves of his mercy. The metaphor of the stream of life is beautiful and effective in conveying the idea that we all need a spiritual cleanse from time to time, and we can find that refreshment in Jesus.

The phrase "As deep cries out to deep" in the chorus is particularly poignant, as it suggests a deep longing inside our hearts calling out to the depths of God's love and mercy. This line is an affirmation of our connection with God and the hope that he will hear the cries of our hearts. It is a simple yet powerful statement that speaks to the human condition and our need for connection and meaning.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. - Matthew 5:6

It's so strange how the mind works. I used to hate this song because I would hear it all the time as a kid because of the CD my Dad would play all the time. But here I am, coming back to it years later with a nostalgic love for it. I don't really understand it, nor can I explain it, but I actually kind of love this song now.
