The band released four albums: Their 2003 debut album "Wer hat Angst vor Virginia Jetzt?" - a play on words from the Edward Albee play "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" - was followed by "Anfänger" in 2004, "Land Unter" in 2007 and their last one "Blühende Landschaften" in 2009.
Virginia Jetzt! are known for their emotional yet upbeat guitar pop. They are generally considered part of the new wave of German pop music which rediscovered German lyrics.

The song "The Final Countdown" by Virginia Jetzt! talks about four friends who embark on a journey without any specific destination. The world is not waiting for them, yet they are still moving towards an uncertain future. They are only looking for a good time that they will remember forever. As they travel, they are counting down to something significant, something that they anticipate, something that is going to start soon. They are unsure about what it is, but they are excited about the little time they have until the "show" begins.
The lyrics convey a sense of adventure, urgency, and an anticipation of something momentous. The friends are living in the moment, enjoying their journey, and making memories that will last a lifetime. The scenery around them is not quite satisfying; they are yearning for more, for something extraordinary. The sun is shining, and the sky is beautiful, but it does not seem to matter; they are searching for something else, something more meaningful.
In summary, the song is about four young people who embark on a journey, knowing that they are counting down to something significant. They are living in the moment, yearning for something extraordinary, and hoping that the journey will give them unforgettable memories.
