Saturn
Virtual On Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A dark wind blows in my eyes
I've traveled far
City breeze
Is there a life
In rainy neon skies
There's nothing inside
There's nothing in
There's nothing inside
I walk the streets
In search for something more
I fight myself
Because
I love war
Corporate labor camps
Comply
And slave to stay
Please let me out
I want to, I've got to, get away
Outside
There's nothing inside
There's nothing in
There's nothing inside
Be silent, the pain will soon pass
Forget not, the nerve gas
And wake again from sleep
Don't talk about
Just carry out
And bring them to their knees
Dark power shall we seize
Say no more
For the one thing
Worth living for is gone
Has gone
Can I justify one last sunrise
With what I know I doubt
That I'll make it through without
Inside
There's nothing in
There's nothing inside
Be silent, the pain will soon pass
Forget not, the nerve gas
And wake again from sleep
The lyrics to Virtual On's song "Saturn" depict a sense of disillusionment and longing for something more in a cold and oppressive urban environment. The singer describes walking the streets, searching for meaning and battling their inner self. The reference to loving war reflects a desire for conflict and excitement in a life that feels mundane and controlled by corporate labor camps.
The lyrics paint a picture of a society where individuals are trapped and compliant, forced to slave away to maintain their existence. The desperation to break free is emphasized with the repeated plea to be let out and to get away. The line "There's nothing inside, there's nothing in, there's nothing inside" suggests a feeling of emptiness and void within oneself, possibly caused by the dehumanizing nature of the environment they are in.
The second half of the lyrics shift towards a more rebellious tone. The mention of nerve gas and the call to bring them to their knees alludes to a desire to fight against the oppressive forces at play. The singer acknowledges that the one thing worth living for is gone, but questions their ability to justify another sunrise without that missing element. The struggle to survive and maintain hope in such a stifling world is present throughout the song, creating a sense of tension and urgency.
Overall, "Saturn" explores themes of dissatisfaction, longing for freedom, and the internal battle between conformity and rebellion.

VO was one of the few games I had on my Saturn that I genuinely enjoyed and loved, no matter how many times I played it.
Dont forget to check the channel out for PS3 gameplay of the game and also 4k Dreamcast gameplay of VO2.
With all these games being brought back by indie devs you would hope someone would have saved this classic franchise.

Looks great emulated! If it was 60fps, it'd be near perfect

Thanks for the play through. I saw this game in an arcade in around 1998-9 and couldn’t beat it

I'm not surprised. The twin stick controllers really threw a lot of people off when trying to use them.
What's worse is sega asking 120-150 for the saturn version of the twin stick controller

This should've gained more views than it already should.

I think it's because sadly in todays era just not that many people know or have even heard of Virtual-On.
It also doesn't help by Sega not bothering to port them to the PC or give them a remaster or something.
It's a great franchise that really deserves better
