Tellin' me you wanna go
As we danced the night away
I wanted you to stay
Ooohooo, ooohooohooo
Dance
Dancin' in the night away
When you hold me close and tight
Saw you on the dance floor
Tellin' me you wanna go
As we danced the night away
I wanted you to stay
Ooohooo, ooohooohooo
Dance
Dancin' in the night away
Everything is going right
When you hold me close and tight
Saw you on the dance floor
Tellin' me you wanna go
As we danced the night away
I wanted you to stay
Ooohooo, ooohooohooo
Dance
Dancin' in the night away
Everything is going right
When you hold me close and tight
Dance
Dancin' in the night away
Everything is going right
When you hold me close and tight
Dance
Dancin' in the night away
Everything is going right
When you hold me close and tight
The lyrics to Voggue's song "Dancin' the Night Away" are about a moment between two people on the dance floor. The singer sees their partner on the dance floor and they express that they want to go somewhere else. However, as they danced the night away, the singer wanted their partner to stay. The chorus emphasizes the joy and freedom of dancing through the lyrics "Dancin' in the night away, everything is going right, when you hold me close and tight." The repetition of the lyrics "Saw you on the dance floor, tellin' me you wanna go" adds a sense of urgency and desire between the two people.
The song captures the carefree feeling of being on a night out and losing oneself to the music. The lyrics emphasize the connection between dancing and romance, as the singer wants their partner to stay and hold them close. The upbeat and energetic tempo of the song adds to the celebratory feeling of the lyrics.
Overall, "Dancin' the Night Away" is a classic disco track that captures the essence of a night out dancing and finding a moment of connection with someone on the dance floor.

Voggue was a female disco vocal duo from Montreal composed of Chantal Condor and Angela Songui. The group recorded two albums and released a number of singles, including "Love Buzz" and "Dancin' the Night Away, which appeared on the US dance music charts. While the singles were well received, some of the other tracks on the album were criticized as less polished and lacking in energy. In 1981, their most successful single, "Dancin' the Night Away", written by Denis LePage, spent three weeks at #1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart in the U.S. and also reached #39 in the UK Singles Chart. Voggue disbanded in 1984.
