The Art Of War
Vomitory Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Cadaverous odour rapes through every breath mankind's sympathy
Perpetrators grow rapidly without pity
Armies projected, brainwashed, thoroughly gone through from birth
Tools against enemy alliances
Troops in thousands fire at will
Troops in thousands charge
Carcass in fire screams uninterruptedly in silence
Napalm falls, burns all in sight, enemies' death all that counts
Suffocated mutilated remains, exterminated through fire
They stop breathing, screams for mercy one last time
Tools against enemy alliances
Troops in thousands fire at will
Troops in thousands
Extinction, the art of war
Through war, discriminatory declarations against enemies' ideal
Against dissident opponents' assessments tanks will strike
In the darkest of darkness, will the remains,
Of the enemies putrefied corpse in silence rest
The song "The Art of War" by Vomitory is a brutal depiction of the horrors of war. The lyrics start off by describing the aftermath of war, with a putrefied corpse and the sickening odor that pervades the air. The perpetrators of war are described as growing rapidly without pity, brainwashed and trained for battle from birth. The song then delves into the actual act of war, with troops firing and charging in the thousands, and the use of weapons like napalm to burn and kill enemies indiscriminately.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Tools against enemy alliances," emphasizing the strategic and calculated nature of war. The song ends with a grim reminder of the ultimate goal of war - the extinction of the enemy. The lyrics introduce the idea of discriminatory declarations against enemies' ideals, as tanks strike against dissident opponents' assessments. The remains of the enemies are left to rest in silence, in the darkest of darkness.
Overall, "The Art of War" is a powerful commentary on the destruction and devastation that comes with war. The lyrics paint a chilling picture of the dehumanizing effects of violence and the ways in which war can corrupt and twist even the most innocent of minds.
