A lot up on my mind/ lot up on my plate/ out hear on the grind/ how can I get paid/ you can’t Willy Lynch my mind/ I am not a slave/ young black educated nigga/ you gone feel my pain/

(Verse 1)

A small thing to a giant only leads to triumph/ All these motherfucking rules/ were not compliant/ the TVs like a mirror/ when I look inside it, why is it the ones that look like me/ the only ones that’s dying/ Protecting they selves/ serve our people violence/ I’m tryna prevail/ while I’m caught inside/ kill em in front of they people/ cuz it’s psychological/ let’s show em it’s not/ Eliminate the problem/
All this keep the peace/ and everybody silent/ I’d rather keep the peace/ and make the muzzle silent/

Soon as they see yo light/ they tryda stop yo shinning/ so let’s keep this/ mother fucka Lit/ fuel yo inner Fire/

Gotta be strategic/ they will not defeat us/ how I look/ having a voice and go and put my feet up/ / land of the free/ but violate our freedom/
Why you so inTimidated / every time/ you/ fucking see us/

(Verse 2)

Like Olaudah Equiano/ Know my writings crucial/ act like Malcolm think like martin Luther mix with Desmond TuTu/ they wanna conquer and divide just practice Ubuntu/ they wanna infiltrate yo mind/ fortify ingqondo/ 10 fingers to the sky/ sending praise to Chuku/ all my Bantus tryna rise/ go and get that FuFu/ earn it honest/ have some pride/ ungaba Khona Mugu/ i / need /a Mbatha raw/ I’m searching for GUGU/
Ndlovukazi yami/ I need you here with me/ soon as I make it beyond the lights/ you can set me free/ I’m tryna talk to my niggaz/ I ain’t tryna preach/ I’m so motherfucking Woke/ I cant even sleep/ the power of the tongue is gated by the teeth/ do the words you got locked up have meaning/ when they are released/
Will you be remembered when you are deceased/ baby you focused more on yo leggings or yo legacy/

All the ones that doubt us/ we gone let em see/ I’ll people are prowess/ in everything/ United we stand/ apart we fall/ strength lies in the differences not in the similarities/ All people our people/ no ones better than/ the other/ Real love can conquer anything/ United we stand/ apart we fall/ strength lies in the differences not in the similarities/

(Hook)

Rising through the top/ show the world I’m Great/ writing all the time/ gotta a lot to say/ Negativity/ except what comes my way/ niggaz and these bitches in my BIZ/ I motivate off hate/ A lot up on my mind/ lot up on my plate/ out hear on the grind/ how can I get paid/ you can’t Willy Lynch my mind/ I am not a slave/ young black educated nigga/ you gone feel my pain/

Love of one soul can offset hatred of millions/

And where there’s pure love, there’s no room for anger of any kind/

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to WOOD & METAL's song "PURE" delve into themes of resilience, empowerment, and the struggle for equality. The opening lines suggest a heavy burden on the singer's mind and life, as they navigate the challenges of pursuing success and freedom in a world filled with systemic oppression. The reference to Willy Lynch, an infamous slave owner who developed strategies to control and manipulate slaves, highlights the singer's refusal to be mentally enslaved. They are proud of their education and black identity, and they express a determination for their pain to be acknowledged and felt by others.

In the first verse, the lyrics highlight the discrepancy between the facade of peace and the violence faced by marginalized communities. The singer seeks to rise above these circumstances and urges others to join in the fight against injustice. They recognize the attempts to suppress their brilliance and call for unrelenting resilience, emphasizing the importance of nurturing their inner fire. The verse also criticizes the intimidation felt by those in power whenever they encounter the strength and presence of black individuals.

The second verse references Olaudah Equiano, a prominent African writer and abolitionist, as well as influential figures like Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr., and Desmond Tutu. The lyrics stress the need for unity and resistance against the attempts to divide and conquer. The singer yearns for the presence of their loved one, expressing a desire for freedom and the ability to communicate with their community without feeling like they are preaching. The verse concludes with contemplation on the power of one's words and the legacy they leave behind, contrasting superficial focus with the importance of building a lasting impact.

The hook reiterates the singer's determination to rise above the challenges they face, motivated by the hate and negativity they encounter. The lyrics express the constant grind and pursuit of success, highlighting the refusal to be mentally enslaved and the determination to make their pain felt by others.

Hi, pretty interesting video imo

I just wanted to point out that the wood could have, indeed, been blamed x)
Wood is not an homogenous material.
So the way the plank was cut into the trunk (and therefore the ring disposition in the plank) had some impact on the "spreading" and "cracking".
Using a plank with straight rings (with less curving of the rings) would have cause less crack to appear (because it's "already flat")
The "diagonal cracks" were always perpendicular to the rings.
And the specie used had some impact as well in my opinion. Pine (and i think that it applies to coniferous species in general) have a significant difference in terms of density in between rings. Some hardwood species (like oak) have similar issues because they have an irregular repartition of vessels across the rings
I think that it would have been easier to use some popular or some basswood which doesn't have this issue.

Dude look a tree

Would love to see a follow-up with store bought plywood. Also, if the crushing actually bonds the cellulose fibers together, could you layer without any glue?

A Seba

Somehow I think hes gonna be tired of squashing wood

m f

I think the glue would compromise it unless a different set of chemicals was used. Using pure wood ships might work though. It would take so much wood chips to make a compressed block like this.

StaticRadion

I dont think plywood would work because of how much glue is used already. At any point where a natural fiber chain like the wood structure ends you have a weakened area. In a full grain piece of wood that already creates issues but they would be compounded and even weaker in plywood. Also the 100 degrees C of the heated plates was originally what in theory bonded the wood. So could you use heat and pressure to bond layers without glue is probably possible but when you talk about the orientation of the wood how he chances the grains it would make the chance for a bond to form weaker. Also there is the entire problem of the liquid and probably the steam of the water that helped in the bonding not being present and that as you make the layers thicker the transference of heat through multiple layers would be much harder to do without that liquid and gas mixture. Ah those are just my napkin thoughts but I bet they check out.
