Timothy Stratton Louis is great. I rarely LOL but I actually watched an episode of Dr Katz yesterday with Louis and laughed.

Im not that big a fan of standup actually. I do like standups though and like listening to them talk and tell stories as apposed to watching their acts .

I realize Larry David and the other cast members were a huge part of Seinfeld but I would submit that was in fact a unique and very good show. Jerry actually went to my high school. He seems like a pretty good guy and although I don't necessarily dig his "act" I think he is funny.

I will say. I always thought he was in fact the weak link in the show as his acting was often pretty bad and he would be smiling in situations where it wasn't right for the scene.

Im sure Louis will make films.

Louis is part of the new breed of comedy which is brutally honest , very dark and personal. Seinfeld is another type. Room for all.

Louis CK is the type of character I root for though. Iconoclastic and does it his own way as much as is possible. Seems genuine and authentic which is probably what I value the most.

I will listen/watch pretty much any podcast, radio show, interview etc that Louis is on and his standup does come across less like an act. I generally don't like listening to bits over and over so I appreciate Louis in that way.

“Can we get back on track?”
“Yeah, I think we can.”
Beautiful moment within a complicated friendship.

@freshavocadew

That became a joke in one episode of Louie as well

@Pinko_Band

Holy shit this was the most human and real interview I've ever heard

@sgim43

It all comes down to the person being interviewed and what they're willing to share, not the person interviewing them. Louie's the man. Hence "the People's comedian"

@Pinko_Band

sgim43 Disagree. Marc has a talent of making people feel comfortable enough to share things and talk in a way that is not typical of most other interviews. You can't take that away from him. He's a master at this point.
I do love anything Louis does though.

@pascalecake

You're both right -- it's a combination of the two elements you mentioned.

John Thompson Interesting discussion. I think Louie C.K. is one of the funiest comics alive. But Marc Maron is just as legendary and important. Such a a great treat to hear such giants to talk together.

Every 4-6 months I'll listen to this and it never gets old. Inspiring and insightful in so many ways.

I do the same. Louis’s a genius.
