Fire & Ice
Wale Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
They told me I ain't wrote nothin' poetic in a long time (ooh, ah)
I want your fire, I want your fire
Ice, ice cold (you hot or you cold?)
Rain on me, you fire, baby (you can take that off if you cold)
(Ice mixed with fire)
Ice, ice cold
(I want your fire, I want your fire, fire and ice)
Ice, ice cold (ice cold, yeah)
Rain on me, you fire, baby
I'll make you mine as soon as I get to do you
Babe, it's been there, but now
Catch my love for you
Babe, it's been there, but now (let's go, yeah)
I want you love me and never hate on me
I want your trust when you look away from me
I want your guts and do not delay with me
I want you fuck me like Julie Kay movies (mm)
If that's okay with you
I want you to feel like you everything to me
What can I give you, you never had?
My competition your shower head
I love how you lovin' you by yourself
But I got that love have you comin' back
To back to back, to back to back
She cold, she cold, she never text
She hot, she knows, but I ain't trippin'
You put that together, get an umbrella
Splash
Ice, ice cold (it's hittin' different, get it?)
Rain on me, you fire, baby (fire, baby)
Ice mixed with fire (hey)
Ice, ice cold (ice cold, yeah)
Rain on me, you fire, baby (fire, baby)
I want your fire, I want your fire, fire and ice
Ice, ice cold (ice cold, yeah)
Rain on me, you fire, baby
In Wale's song "Fire & Ice," the lyrics explore the duality and contrasting elements of passion and detachment in a romantic relationship. The lines "They told me I ain't wrote nothin' poetic in a long time" suggest that the artist is seeking to express his emotions in a more poetic and heartfelt manner. He craves the intensity and fiery nature of love, represented by the metaphor of fire. At the same time, he acknowledges the need for balance and coolness, hence the reference to ice.
The lyrics also touch upon the desire for a deeper connection with his partner. Wale expresses the longing for trust and genuine affection, wanting his significant other to love him without any reservations or animosity. He yearns for a passionate physical connection while acknowledging the importance of emotional intimacy as well.
