Downtown
Walking Paradox Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

She was wearing green and brown
Lost as ever, feeling down
Why don't we just go downtown?
Driving slow our windows down
Could be lost or could be found
But with you there's nothing now
Why don't we just go downtown?
Driving slow our windows down
Could be lost or could be found
But with you there's nothing now

I just wanna make sure that i do

Get you right, I got a couple things to Prove
Baby, we could even pull up in a coupe
Two door, Back seat, what you trying to do?
Baby, you could ride me or i could ride you
It don't matter but we gotta do it soon
Because downtown is closing afternoon
I just wanna make sure that i do

I just wanna make sure that i do
I just wanna make sure that i do
I just wanna make sure that i do
I just wanna make sure that i do
I just wanna make sure that i do

I just wanna make sure that i do

Overall Meaning

The song "Downtown" by Walking Paradox explores the feeling of being lost and searching for something more in life. The opening lines describe a woman who is feeling down and lost, but suggests that going downtown may offer a solution to their current state. The act of driving slow with the windows down suggests a sense of freedom and possibility. The lyrics suggest that being with this person, there is a sense of emptiness or nothingness, indicating a desire for something more meaningful.

The second verse adds more depth to the narrative, with the singer expressing their desire to prove themselves to this person. They mention the possibility of driving in a coupe, emphasizing a sense of luxury and adventure. The line "Baby, you could ride me or I could ride you" has a double entendre, suggesting both a literal and metaphorical meaning. It could imply sexual intimacy, but it could also represent a willingness to be vulnerable and let someone else take control. The urgency in the lyrics reflects the idea that time is running out, as the downtown is closing in the afternoon.

Overall, the song captures the longing for connection and a deeper sense of purpose. It suggests that going downtown, exploring new experiences, and being vulnerable with someone can potentially bring fulfillment and meaning to life.

This beach, its ice cold
This seagull and its white fluff
This one’s for them weird guys
Them long legs, straight masterpieces
Tanning, swimmin’, livin’ it up on da beach
Got a beach towel with sunscreen
Gotta kiss myself, so pretty

Too hot HOT DAMN
Call the police and the firemen
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
Make a dragon wanna retire man
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
I’m a fire breathing seagull man
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
I’m bad bout those explosions

Seagull on a bicycle (whooo)
Seagull on a bicycle (whooo)
Seagull on a bicycle (whooo)
‘Cause seagull gonna blow you up
‘Cause seagull gonna blow you up
‘Cause seagull gonna blow you up
Saturday you’re gonna be my target
Don’t believe me just watch!

STOP
Wait a minute
Take my bike put a seagull on it
Take a dip, catch on fire
Julio! You’re handicap parked!
Seagull in Harlem, Hollywood, Jackson, Mississippi
If it shows up, you better show out
Else you gonna blow up

Too hot HOT DAMN
Call the police and the firemen
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
Make a dragon wanna retire man
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
I’m a fire breathing seagull man
I’m too hot HOT DAMN
I’m bad bout those explosions

I just realized that Jack Edits out his breaths during gameplay, and does in fact require oxygen. I always assumed he just sort of absorbed it through his skin.
