I LOVE the Wanderley sound. It just flows. The dude was so good. It's crazy. This cat has it going on. I wish I could have seen him live. He' s been gone a while, but his music lives on!

Her breath control is absolutely amazing !
The long phrases and she hardly comes up for air.
The lilting English phrased beautifully, you can hear every syllable in place.
And to think Astrud was a last minute addition to "Girl from Ipanema" that almost didn't happen.
Indeed one of the greatest finds not only in Bossa Nova, but jazz and lounge music.

Oh man! whenever you get the chance to hear Walter Wanderley it's a great moment. Add Astrud Gilberto to the mix. Too bad I came along so late and too bad Walter is no longer with us.
