K.Y.N
Warhead Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

My apartment's 'round the block
Downtown there's not much you've got
It was my last day at work
Don't ask me if it does hurt

I've got to walk
'cause they damaged my car
Last week at a slutty bar
Oh, the rent I'm not able to pay
And my wife kicked me today

Do yourself a good
In your neighbourhood
March along the floor and
Kill your neighbour!
Kill your neighbour!

People nextdoor drive me insane
What is their intention, what is their gain
They're disturbing me
When they're passing my way
And it hurts
When they've got nothing to say

There's nobody who's really good
Out there in my neighbourhood
A man hurts his wife and children cry all day
I think I better blow 'em all away!

Do yourself a good...

These were times I remember well
Things that I can hardly tell
I do repent and I have to pay

As the priest and me
Are on my last way...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Warhead's song K.Y.N speak of the frustrations and hardships of a man in his neighborhood. The song paints a picture of a man whose life has been turned upside down by a series of unfortunate events. His apartment is in a run-down part of town that offers very little, and he has just lost his job. To make matters worse, his car was damaged at a bar, and he cannot afford to pay his rent. The final straw comes when his wife kicks him out. He is at his breaking point, and the people in his neighborhood are not helping.

He is driven to madness by his neighbors. They annoy him, and he cannot understand their intentions. He sees his neighbor's as unfriendly and bothersome, passing him without so much as a hello. He has given up all hope in finding a good person in his neighborhood, as he has witnessed a man hurting his wife, and all the children could do was cry.

The song reflects a character that feels he has been wronged by the world and the people in it. He takes out his frustration on his neighbors, by asking listeners to "kill your neighbor." However, in the end, he is filled with remorse for his actions, and seeks redemption through a priest, as he finds himself on his last way.
