Hang On
Watchmen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
too young to lose your faith and too old cry
like a storm in the night
Feel my heart, It´s stronger
I can see in your eyes
Can you feel the anger?
looking for someone
in the eye of the storm
Tell me I´ll find you someday
hang on, nothing lasts forever
hang on, holiding on together
hang on, nothing lasts forever
You get so lonely to find some way out
I´ve been taking my sorrow all this time
Hearmy voice through the night
Feel the fire burning.
I can see it in your eyes
Now the dice are rolling
Looking for someone...
Hang on, nothing lasts forever...
The lyrics of Watchmen's song "Hang On" are about the feeling of loneliness and the search for someone to hold onto during difficult times. The opening lines emphasize the sense of isolation, highlighting the age-old dilemma of being "too young to lose your faith and too old to cry." The lyrics then use the metaphor of a storm to convey the intensity of emotion and the turbulent state of mind that comes with it.
The chorus, "Hang on, nothing lasts forever," suggests a message of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. It is a reminder that even though everything seems bleak and overwhelming at the moment, there is always a way out, and things will eventually get better. The song's lyrics continue to explore this theme of finding strength in the face of hardship and the importance of holding on to hope.
The final lines of the song reiterate the desire to find someone to share the journey with, someone to hang on to during life's storms and difficulties.
Overall, "Hang On" is a powerful song about the struggles we all face at some point in our lives, and the importance of finding hope and support during difficult times.
