Impossible
Water to Water Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I know it’s painful but I’ve got to say what’s on my mind
You paint a rainbow but your colours never seem to dry
You take a stapler but you don’ know how to staple it down

You’re possible
And I’m possible
It’s all possible
We’re all possible

I know it’s painful but I’ve got to say what’s on my mind
You wear a raincoat but you never seem to come home dry
You have a vision but your vision’s like a pie in the sky

You’re possible
And I’m possible
It’s all possible
We’re all possible

I know it’s painful
But I’ve got to say what’s on my mind
You paint a rainbow
But your colours never seem to dry
You take a stapler
But you don’ know how to staple it down

You’re possible (You’re possible)
And I’m possible (I’m possible)
It’s all possible (It’s all possible)
We’re all possible (We’re all possible)

You take a stapler
But you never seem to staple it down
You have a grater
But your carrot’s always stuck in the ground
You have a waiter
But you’re the one that’s waiting around
I know it’s painful
But I’ve got to say what’s on my mind

You’re possible (You’re possible)
I’m possible (I’m possible)
It’s all possible (It’s all possible)
We’re all possible (We’re all possible)

I’m possible (I’m possible)
I’m possible (And your possible)
You’re possible (It's all possible)
It’s all possible (We’re all possible)
We’re all possible

I know it’s painful
But it’s true

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Water to Water's song "Impossible" seem to be a reflection on the struggles and uncertainties that come with pursuing one's dreams and aspirations. In these lyrics, the singer seems to be addressing someone who has a lot of potential but is struggling to actualize it. The repeated line "I know it's painful but I've got to say what's on my mind" suggests that the singer recognizes that confronting these difficulties is uncomfortable and difficult. However, they are determined to do so in order to encourage the other person to keep pushing forward.

The references to rainbows, staplers, and pie in the sky seem to be used metaphorically to represent the idea of lofty goals and big dreams. The singer suggests that while the other person may have the tools to pursue these goals, they are struggling to utilize them effectively. However, the repeated refrain of "You're possible and I'm possible" suggests that the singer believes that success is attainable for both themselves and the other person, so long as they maintain a positive attitude and keep trying.

Overall, the lyrics to "Impossible" are optimistic and hopeful, despite acknowledging the difficulties of pursuing one's dreams. The repeated refrain emphasizing the possibility of success suggests that the song is intended as an encouragement to listeners who may be struggling to achieve their goals.

I believe you.

I'm a music producer and I made one of my best beats on one of my most depressed days ever.

I was just sitting in the corner thinking woe is me and my life will never progress.

Finally I said f it. Instead of just sitting here let my fire up the laptop and keyboard and do something. Anything is better than nothing...

The beat is so incredibly soulful and beautiful. Not especially happy sounding and not sad sounding either. Based on a simple melody, but mystically magically beautiful

That was some pure alchemy I tapped into

@Isabellagiua

I did it many years ago with 2 grapefruit 🍊🍊that were EXACTLY the same, bought them from the same produce.

I wrote HATE on ones skin, & LOVE on the other!

Kept them on the counter & every morning I would say HATEFUL things to the ‘HATE’ grapefruit & LOVING things to the LOVE grapefruit!

And yeap…after a couple of weeks HATED grapefruit ROT big time!

And the LOVE one kept itself nicely! I sliced it & ate it! It was soooo delicious !!!

So now I ALWAYS say nice things to every ‘LIVE’ food & when I am cooking and find food lasts longer & tastes better! 😍

True

@moonhajung6742

Yea that's why whenever I do things when I'm in the mood, they turn out best. When I'm not in the mood, I guess I just emit bad energy and it makes everything mediocre or even awful. :(
