Blue Pt. II
Waxahatchee Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

If you think that I′ll wait forever, you were right and,
I'll give you everything you wanted if I can
And when I look into your olive colored eyes
I feel a breach, it makes me cry, it makes me cry
I wake up early every morning
And you sleep for hours after me
In our darkened bedroom,
I can′t breath behind this curtain that we keep

We'll wake up sober two weeks later;
And we're loving.
The atmosphere is fucking tired it brings us nothing
If you think that I′ll stay forever you were right and,
I′ll give you everything you wanted when I can
And it may look like every hour is dictated
By the chance of ream

We won't want to die
We won′t even feel an ounce of pain

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Waxahatchee's song Blue Pt. II seem to be about a turbulent and complicated relationship. The singer seems to be in love with someone who may not be as invested in the relationship as she is, as she says "if you think that I'll wait forever, you were right". Despite this, she is still willing to give them everything they want, as long as she can. When she looks into their eyes, she feels a sense of sadness and despair, which makes her cry. It seems that the relationship is taking a toll on her emotional well-being, as she struggles to breathe in the darkened room that they share.

Despite the difficulties in their relationship, the singer still hopes that it can work out. She talks about waking up sober two weeks later and still being in love with the other person, even though the atmosphere between them is "fucking tired" and has brought them nothing. The chance of a dream seems to be what is keeping them going, even though they know deep down that they won't want to die and won't feel any pain. The song is a powerful exploration of the complexities of love and relationships, and the toll they can take on our emotions and well-being.
