Lordy, the number of times I played this 78 when I was I was in school and college...it is such a lovely treatment of this great old tune...just listen to WK’s soprano sax...I bet Paul Whiteman was sorry to see him leave his sax section in the ‘20s...alas, one man’s loss is another’s gain.

This is not Wayne King's original orchestra. The orchestra he led in late 1920's and early 1930's was much better. So many of the orchestra leaders in their prime continued when their prime was passed and their original orchestra members had disbanded. I remember an interview of Wayne King in the 1970's and he admitted to what I'm saying here. He said he'd love to get back the original sound of his orchestra but couldn't.

@CatsPjamas1 I thought that the record in the picture (LPM-1186) is from 1956. Do you happen to have a recording of it's A1 track, "The Waltz You Saved for Me"?
