Wondering
Webb Pierce Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wondering, wondering who's kissing you
Wondering, wondering if you're wondering too
Every hour through the day, since you been away
I keep wondering, yes wondering, if you're wondering too

I pray every night to the good Lord above
To send back to me the one I really love
Wondering, wondering who's kissing you
Wondering, wondering if you're wondering too
Every hour through the day, since you been away
I keep wondering, yes wondering, if you're wondering too

I pray every night to the good Lord above
To send back to me the one I really love

Wondering, wondering who's kissing you
Wondering, wondering if you're wondering too

Every hour through the day, since you been away
I keep wondering, yes wondering, if you're wondering too

excellent voice.I remember listing to Webb when I was in Nam. My God what a comfort from being soo far from family and home. So many will never understand this. But my brothers in the infantry will know.

I guess excellent voice. His first 32 singles releases made it into the top 10 and if my memory is correct, the next 36 singles releases made in into the top 25. That is 68 single releases in a row that went that high. No country artist has come close to that record to date. Every Marine is in infantry out of boot camp. When I got my orders for Infantry training at Camp LeJeune, NC, out of boot at the swamps of Paris Island, SC, back in 1968, I told the First Sergeant that I was 22 years old, so too old for the Infantry. I was ready for the adultery. He was not amused to say the least.

This is such a good song, and since I'm going down memory lane tonight, I just must say, I've been Wondering, why did things have to change, and why did they have to change the way they did, I remember when things were much different, more friendly, you could walk by someone on the street and say hello and hear have a nice day in return, now the person walking by either has earbuds in, or they give you the, you know the rest, I was Wondering.... Why?

@Avro Arrow West Virginians are friendly and any time we travel we still smile & say hello... yes. even to impersonal strangers. :)

Avro Arrow

Regardless of why...keep greeting strangers on the street as friendly as can be. I do it all the time and sometimes they look completely surprised! But often they return a cheerful greeting, and little things like that are really wonderful.
