Sea Of Love
Webster Katie Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
My love
To the sea
The sea of love
I want to tell you
how much
I love you
Do you remember
When we met
That's the day
I knew I'd be your pet
I wanna tell you
how much
I love you
Come with me
My love
To the sea
The sea of love
I wanna tell you
How much
I love you
The song Sea of Love by Webster Katie is a beautiful love song that speaks to a sense of loss, yearning, and the desire to connect with the one you love. The song starts off with a simple invitation, asking the listener to come with the singer to the sea of love. It's not clear whether the sea of love is meant to be literal or metaphorical, but either way, it's a powerful image. The mention of the sea suggests that this love is vast and deep, and perhaps even dangerous, yet the singer wants to share it with their loved one.
As the song progresses, the singer speaks directly to their love interest, expressing their emotions in a heartfelt and vulnerable way. They mention the day they met and how they knew from that moment on that they would be together. There's a sense of urgency in the lyrics, as if the singer knows that time is running out and they need to express their feelings before it's too late.
Overall, the song Sea of Love is a powerful expression of love and longing. The lyrics are simple yet profound, and the melody is hauntingly beautiful. It's a song that can speak to anyone who has ever been in love, or who has yearned for someone they can't have.

A lot of people don't know Katie was the piano player on the original recording of this song by Phil Phillips. Phillip Baptiste was his real name. Katie may not have the name recognition that Robert Plant had when his "Honedrippers" recorded this in the '80s, but Katie outdid his performance easily. Maybe Katie should have recorded this with Jeff Beck on guitar like Plant did . . . ? Nahhhh!
