Weeping Wound Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

the pain no longer matters
everything you are and could have been is void
between expectation of reality and reality itself
to them
you've failed in all ways
drugs were not enough
sex is not enough
you were not enough
soon you will be one with me
and thus
you will begin to accept that there are things you will never know
you will find your peace

you don't belong here

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from Weeping Wound's song delve into the deep emotions of inadequacy and despair that are all too universal in human experience. The opening line, "the pain no longer matters, everything you are and could have been is void," speaks to a profound sense of hopelessness and disillusionment that the singer is feeling. It reflects a heavy burden of emotional turmoil and a feeling that nothing in life holds any significance or value anymore. The notion of being void of what could have been suggests a sense of lost potential and unfulfilled dreams, intensifying the feelings of despair.

The following lines, "between expectation of reality and reality itself, to them you've failed in all ways," highlight the inner conflict that the singer is grappling with. The gap between their expectations and the harsh reality of their perceived failures creates a sense of powerlessness and a deep-seated fear of not living up to societal standards or personal aspirations. The mention of drugs and sex as temporary distractions that are ultimately not enough further underlines the theme of seeking solace in ephemeral pleasures that cannot truly numb the pain or fill the void within.

The phrase "soon you will be one with me, and thus you will begin to accept that there are things you will never know, you will find your peace" takes a dark and foreboding turn, suggesting a sense of resignation and a longing for escape from the relentless cycle of suffering. The idea of becoming one with the singer, possibly symbolizing death or a merger with inner turmoil, hints at a desire for release from the earthly burdens and a pursuit of inner tranquility that can only be found in the embrace of oblivion. The notion of accepting the limitations of knowledge and finding peace in ignorance adds a haunting and philosophical layer to the lyrics.

Finally, the stark declaration "you don't belong here" serves as a chilling conclusion to the emotional journey depicted in the lyrics. It signifies a deep-seated feeling of alienation and disconnection from the world, suggesting that the singer feels like an outsider or a misfit in their own reality. This sense of not belonging can stem from a myriad of personal struggles and traumas, emphasizing the pervasive theme of isolation and despair that runs through the song. Overall, the lyrics evoke a sense of profound melancholy and existential angst, exploring the complexities of human emotions and the haunting specter of inner turmoil.

Very nice explanation, it's so nice to see a compassionate Doctor such as yourself. I can't wait to see his progress. Thanks

Thank you or the video tonight. I’ve never seen anything like this. A terrible wound. I too wonder if he’s diabetic and that impedes the healing process or if this is just the nature of this particular problem. Either way you are an incredible Dr and I appreciate the time and effort involved in bringing this to YouTube for me.

The wound stays in bad shape for a long time because it is weeping lymphatic fluid. This keep the skin moist and keeps the wound from healing properly.

Poor patient. Well done for your care Dr.

That poor man. I hope he isn’t having to much pain. Must be hard to walk or take a bath.

Miguel O’Hara

it’s actually not that painful but it sure is uncomfortable to walk with a large leaking open wound

Carmen Olejarczyk

Poor dude!! Hope it continues to heal!!

It’s amazing how the body works. By seeing this video I actually learned something about the healing of wounds.

Thank you. You are brave enough to talk, explain what you are doing and why. Blood flow brings heeling. Aggressively rubbing the wound stimulates, causes healing as long as cleaned during maintenance by the patient and you during your visits. As a retired auto ASE Master Tech, common sense is our most expensive commodity as it can be learned and taught somewhat. Your explaining teaches common sense. As a kid from the farm with many animals, you learn, you watch, you ask questions as a kid to the Vet, Blacksmith, Butcher and the local repair shop. Learning is good and I scratched my shin on two nails on a wood porch that broke. You clean, add antibiotic and wrap so it can get air. It's 38 miles to town and more to a dr's office. It is draining two weeks in, no blood but a clean tear in the skin. Thanks for being honest.
DK, Omaha.
