Remaster is the wrong term!!!! Please learn the difference!
You are looking for the word RE-RECORDING. There's generally 4 types of remake terms you must know:

1. Re-master = only re-mastering the original recording, inclusive NOT altering mix.
2. Re-mixing = re-mixing the multitracks, and then obviously including a remaster on top.
3. Re-recording = keep the songs riffs/lyrics etc, just re-recording everything with better performace incl mix+master.
4. Re-writing = re-writing some or most parts/riffs/lyrics, maybe change the songs structure, and then record+mix+master the new version.

THE GAMING INDUSTRY THROWS AROUND THE WORD "RE-MASTER" LIKE ITS ALL FINE.
I hate it. It ruins the words meaning, people thinking it means "whatever you want"... No!

I am soooo happy my band's demo from high school was on cassette tape and there were only 4 or 5 copies floating around. I can't imagine how horrendous we sounded back then. I had only been playing about a year when we stayed playing parties and local gigs. Fun times for sure though.

This song sounded pretty much early 2000's to me. While Stevie may think his guitar playing sloppy, the feeling is there, and it is punky as balls. Since I like pure punk which IS sloppy by default, I say this song definitely gets a pass from me, it's cool! :)

This ironically reminds me of "The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World!! I have always loved that song cause it was an amazing anthem for those of us who never quite fit in.
