Gemini
Whether I Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Are you so narrow minded that you never stopped to think
Two steps past this fleeting moment or what a life could mean
And you can't stand the thought that you were wrong
Blaming all those who were never at fault
Take a step aside and tip toe past lines
So rehearsed to convince yourself you are fine
If there was even a chance
Could you still bring yourself to turn away

Cold feet dripping ice into your veins
Is it second nature just to throw a guiltless life aside
You built yourself up, the pain still burns in your eyes
Where are you now
Was this not your home

Guess I'll step up and be the man that you never were
Can you stand to look in the mirror
Where are you now
Are you alone
You said you'd never leave
Tell me was it easy
So you mean to say that I only got in the way
Of your plans and dreams, your selfish schemes
You took this life for granted
But it was never yours to take
Point to the possibility of everything you took from me
I hope you know how it feels to be alone
You'll know what it is to be alone
Can you live with the mistakes you've made

Does it sting to think I'll never know your name
You're to blame
Where are you now
Was this not your home

Guess I'll step up and be the man that you never were
Can you stand to look in the mirror
Where are you now
Are you alone
You said you'd never leave
Tell me was it easy
Where are you now, how long has it been
Since you have heard my name
And how long will you treat this like a game
Where are you now
And what will it take
For it to go my way there's gotta be a better way
A better way
It's not your voice I'm looking for now
And these halls I pass
Never meant much with you around
I'm becoming something that you never will
Stop and take a look around
This ships not going down
But you're not around
You never even said goodbye
Where are you now
Was this not your home

Guess I'll step up and be the man that you never were
Can you stand to look in the mirror
Where are you now
Are you alone

You said you'd never leave
Tell me was it easy

Overall Meaning

The song "Gemini" by Whether I is about a person reflecting on a relationship with someone who was seemingly self-centered and unfeeling. The lyrics suggest that the person in question was unable to look beyond the present moment and consider how their actions may affect others in the long term. The singer challenges this person to take responsibility for their choices and recognize the pain they have caused.

The lyrics also highlight the singer's personal growth and the realization that they are becoming a better person despite the absence of the other individual. The singer takes ownership for their own actions and chooses to move forward without dwelling on the hurt caused by the other person.

Overall, "Gemini" is a powerful portrayal of the struggle to come to terms with a toxic relationship and the growth that can come from moving on. It challenges us to consider our own actions and the impact they have on those around us.

nwalters7

I have heard a few songs off the new record and they are just amazing.

xFedd

nwalters7 really? i've listened to the full thing, and truthfully as much as i like these guys, not one song on the new album is nearly as good as anything on their ep. and for some reason Michael Swank vocals seem really weak on the song he's featured on. I found the album very boring, i hope in the future they release some better stuff :)

Niño Jan Yves Gaviola

Ghost Killer Entertainment
