@GildedVoss It's pretty common in this game to get kicked for really minimal to no reason, teams can just be dicks sometimes if you make one mistake or just get caught by specials in back once or twice, or because their friend is coming in and they didn't have the courtesy to tell you they wanted to make room for that person, plenty of other reasons.

I'd say the culture is improving though, at least on PC it's getting less toxic all the time and it gets chiller the deeper you get in to hanging around serious players

i remember being on top of no mercy during the elevator mission when my team got the notification that i was gonna be the tank, one of them started a votekick against me because he and his friends gambled on who'll get the tank after im kicked. So I jumped off the hospital as the tank and killed myself, afterward were the most satisfying meltdowns I've ever seen in my entire l4d2 experience. I got kicked once just cuz their “friend” want to join and I apparently was the only one not in a discord doing competitive versus games. How I know they competitive? Ah yes, the classic "I don't want to accept my mistakes so i'm gonna blame others". It happened to me a lot of times but this one really pissed me off.
We were in The Parish, Chapter 3, in the part where you need to jump from a house second floor with a hole in the wall. Well, Rochelle and Ellis went straight foward and jumped, while I stayed at the edge waiting for Nick, who was choosing between double pistol or melee, when he finally decided, he went to the hole but a Jockey jumped on him, and he was close enough to get the knockback stun and throw me down the house. So, I had to head up back because neither Rochelle or Ellis were going to help, and of course, a Hunter was waiting for me and I knew it, but i'm still learning when I need to do the push action when i'm getting jumped on the face so it was my fault there.
Well, the Jockey downed Nick and I got killed, and when Rochelle finally decided to "help", instead of reviving Nick, she threw a molotov to kill him faster, so she can speedrun, but karma appeared and got caught by a Charger, so he started cursing us blah blah blah. And who's the one getting kicked? Me, of course. Why? Because I pushed Nick, that's what he said. I know you can get pushed by other survivors, but the one getting pushed was me, also, that Nick was taking ages to choose, so the Jockey took the oportunity and grabbed you, knocked me off, I tried to help you, died, and the other instead of help tried to kill you faster, got caught and started blaming you, and i'm the one who deserves the kick?
I stopped playing for the day after that

You know what's saddest about memes like this? You identify with them..

I never got a votekick, but once on the storm map, right at the end when the boat arrived with the entire team practically lifeless, a guy who had just come in decided to shoot us. Fortunately we managed to get on the boat and even fallen, we passed the map. And that's when I was trying to get the achievement of playing Expert with realistic mode turned on, and it's sooo hard.

I was 1 year without entering the game after that, since my friends don't like this game, so when I want to play with people, I have to create or join games with strangers. That feeling that some toxic player can get in the way always remains.

My worst experience was I did almost all the work, left no survivor behind,and saved the whole team multiple times. Then the next round hits I exit safe room last and get pounced by every special infect. First chocked by smoker and spitted on, second charged by a charger, and then pounced by a hunter. I was saved from each of those but they were directly in a row so I couldn’t avoid it. After that i was kicked.

Apparently there's a surprising amount of idiots that think the group split the rewards from the heists so they kick everyone before it ends.
