Draw the Line
White Heart Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Living in a land of lies
Stepping over the boundary
Into the world of compromise
You said you were a believer
Walking in the Master's name
What did you think you were doing
Faith is not some kind of game
Look at the way you are livin'
You can't go on that way
You've got to make up your mind
You're gonna run out of time
You've gotta draw, draw the line
You can't run away, no place to hide
Like it or not you must decide
Now is the time, you've got to draw the line
Draw the line
You're headin' into trouble
Sittin' on both sides of the fence
Now don't you dodge the issue
You're takin' way too big a chance
It's your life, no one else can wear your shoes
You've got to make your decision
Boy you have got to choose
You've got to make up your mind
You're gonna run out of time
You've gotta draw, draw the line
You can't run away, no place to hide
Like it or not you must decide
Now is the time, you've got to draw the line
Draw the line
You've got to make up your mind
You're gonna run out of time
You've gotta draw, draw the line
You can't run away, no place to hide
Like it or not you must decide
Now is the time, you've got to draw the line
Draw the line
The lyrics to White Heart's song Draw The Line are a call to action for someone who is living a double life. They are hiding in the shadows and living a life of lies, pretending to be a believer but compromising their faith by stepping over boundaries. The lyrics suggest that faith is not a game and that this person is drifting farther away from God every day. The singer urges this person to make a decision and draw the line before it's too late. The person is heading into trouble and is sitting on both sides of the fence, taking too big a chance. The singer reminds this person that it's their life and their decision to make, and they must choose.
Overall, the song is a reminder that faith is not something to be taken lightly and that living a double life can have serious consequences. The singer is urging the listener to make a choice and draw the line, to choose between God and the world.
