One More Try
Wigwam Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Out of sight there's something in the air
even though she says it's there
she don't give no clues nowhere
for all her waiting, never stating
all it is she's
anticipating
Not so much a case of turning on
more a case of plugging in
check my mirror if I'm gone for
one more try
The song One More Try by Wigwam is a beautiful love ballad that explores the complexity of relationships when it comes to understanding the feelings of your partner. The lyrics suggest that the singer is feeling a certain distance between himself and his partner, and while he is trying to understand her emotions, he is unable to decipher her thoughts. He acknowledges that there is something in the air around them, but despite his best efforts, he is unable to figure out what it may be. The singer longs for his partner to give him some hints, and while she waits, she does not give away any clues as to what she is anticipating.
As the song progresses, the singer realizes that it is not just about turning on or trying to resolve the distance between them. It's more about accepting the way the relationship is and plugging into it, perhaps with one more try. He checks his mirror, implying that he wants to reflect on his actions and behavior to ensure that he is not making any mistakes. Overall, the lyrics of the song suggest that relationships require patience, understanding, and perseverance.
