All That I Got
Will.I.Am and Fergie Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Baby, baby, when you're looking deep in my eyes
I know you're seeing past my make-up
Into the little girl that used to hide out and cry
When her parents fought
Tryin' to be strong
You can see the hurt in me
The cover-ups so secretly
And all that I aspire to be
You see, you see
You know who I really am
No entourage or caravan
And do you even give a damn
About all that, tell me?

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

So, I don't mean to scare you now or push you away
Cause I'm not tryin' to rush anything
But when I look into your eyes
I'm not scared as you say I see little you
I'm in the picture too
Like a happy family tree
We're together constantly
This could be eventually
We'll see, we'll see
But all that I have got to know
Is with me, baby, will you grow?
Sun and rain and heavy snow
Oh, tell me so now, baby

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

It's as simple as one and two
I'm in love with you
And three and four
You're all I adore
To the seven and eight
See, I've been making mistakes
Cause when you're on my mind
I just can't think straight
Back to the five and six
I'm all in you mix, and I'm all into you
Without the lipstick
Without the L'Oreal
You remain the same angel that I fell for you
For real, for real

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?
And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

Would you love me if I didn't work out
Or I didn't change my natural hair?

And I could be the one you want to grow older with, baby
I'll give you all that I got

Overall Meaning

In these lyrics, the singer, most likely Justin Bieber, is revealing his vulnerability to his partner. He acknowledges that she sees past his exterior, past the cover-up of make-up and the strong facade he has to maintain. She sees the little boy who suffered when his parents fought. He’s asking her if she is willing to love him for who he is, even if he doesn’t work out or change his natural hair. He wants to know if she is ready for a future with him, growing old together as a happy family, through sunshine and rain, through heavy snow.

The singer is telling his partner that he’s fallen in love with her, and that he's made mistakes, but he is all in for her. He wants to know if she will love him even if he doesn’t work out or change his natural hair. He’s all into her, beyond the external, the lipstick, the L'Oreal. He just wants to know if she will love him, for him.

Overall, the song represents the vulnerability of an individual when it comes to love. The singer is opening up to his partner and asking her to do the same, to let love lead the way and appreciate each other for who they are, and not just for their external appearances.
