His recent solo album, 4 Strings, has received critical acclaim from the independent music press in the US with No Depression Magazine lauding him as "probably one of the most important American singer/songwriters of our time" and Saving Country Music saying "it is hard to listen to [his songs] and then say that better songs have ever been written".
Willy Tea is driven by taking people on a musical journey - it doesn't have to be fun and doesn’t have to be emotional but it has to take you somewhere. At his happiest when he's playing with friends or in the bosom of his family Willy is very proud of his roots - he comes from a long line of cattlemen - and he can lead you in a dance and tell stories that'll bring you to tears, he's a hell-raiser and poet.
He is currently touring the US with Tom VandenAvond and making a film entitled 'Searchin' for Guy Clarke's Kitchen', an independent movie that explores that magic happens when song-songwriters play for each other.
You Found Me
Willy Tea Taylor Lyrics

Days are fast and nights are long
I fall asleep with the lights on
Dreams I love they fight the dawn
And you
Only you knew where
To find me
There's lots of trips[?] in the town
There's lots of boos I try to drown
I've got friends to keep me up from down
But no one to put my arms around
And you
Only you knew where
To find me
And I try to read to fall asleep
I guess that's why I always drink
Just so I don't have to think
Drowned[?] the dirty dishes in the sink
And you
Only you knew where
To find me
It is you
Only you knew where
To find me
Willy Tea Taylor's song You Found Me portrays the feeling of being alone and neglected. The lyrics indicate the difficulty of being alone in a lonely environment by explaining that the days go by quickly but the nights are drawn out. The singer says that he is unable to fall asleep without leaving the lights on, and his dreams are his only sanctuary, fighting as long as he can before the dawn. The lyrics also demonstrate that the town has lost its luster over time and that he frequently resorts to alcohol to temper his anxiety. Despite having friends, no one can compensate for the lack of companionship. That is until the appearance of a particular person who appears to be the solution to his isolation.
In the lyrics, the singer expresses the relief he experiences when someone, solely this person, finds him. It indicates that this person is the only individual in the world who understands him and comes to him precisely when he needs it. They are the only one able to assist him in his enduring bleakness, and their presence alters the singer's life indefinitely.
