In the first verse, Wizkid talks about his lifestyle and the success he has achieved. He mentions having diamonds on his ring and pinky, symbolizing his wealth and status. He's waiting for a beautiful woman ("kele") to come and have fun with him. Despite his luxurious life, he still represents and stays connected to his roots in the ghetto. He describes himself as grinding and working hard, stating that what he feels and experiences is different from what others might feel. He acknowledges that he has seen better days and has endured pain, but he uses these experiences as motivation.
In the chorus, Wizkid implies that he knows a lot of things but chooses not to speak about them. He believes that life is unpredictable, and whatever will be, will be. He mentions that he lives dangerously, implying that he takes risks and faces challenges just like anyone else. However, he remains optimistic that better days are ahead for him and others facing similar struggles.
In the second verse, Wizkid emphasizes his confidence and uniqueness. He stands out from the crowd and possesses the creativity and rhythm ("gbedu") to make people dance. He wants to do things that satisfy him mentally and make him feel fulfilled. He refers to himself as "Bad boy wizzy," indicating his rebellious nature and refusal to follow others' paths. He also mentions his ability to attract multiple women and his inclination not to waste time.
In the bridge, Wizkid dismisses any negativity or irrelevant discussions. He identifies himself as Mr. Big Wiz, a powerful and untouchable figure. He enjoys the finer things in life, like sipping expensive liquor (Louis V and 42) with a group of women. He states that he cannot be bothered by unnecessary drama because his life feels like a never-ending holiday. He mentions his tough background and how he and his brother have overcome obstacles.
Overall, "Diamonds" celebrates Wizkid's success, confidence, and perseverance. Despite his luxurious lifestyle, he remains grounded and connected to his roots. He acknowledges the challenges he faces but maintains a positive outlook, believing that better days are ahead. The song also highlights his creative and unique style, emphasizing his ability to captivate and entertain his audience.
