2015 brought a line-up change following the departure of Sam Kohl, Steven Fernandes, and Ben Jovi. They were subsequently replaced by vocalist Marcus Cisneros, guitarist Louie Baltazar, and bass guitarist Nathaniel Duarte. They released their second single, "Sight", on September 8, 2015.
On January 6, 2016, it was announced that Wolf & Bear had signed to Will Swan's record label Blue Swan Records. On March 29, 2016, the band released their single, "Different Fires", on Blue Swan Records. They released a split EP with label-mates Adventurer, titled Wolf & Bear x Adventurer, on May 20, 2016. It was also revealed that the band were to go into the studio to record their debut full-length studio album in 2016 with producer Dryw Owens, who has produced with Sianvar and From Indian Lakes.
The band appeared on American post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance's 10-year anniversary tour in the United States in December 2015, alongside Strawberry Girls, Slaves, A Lot Like Birds, and Dayshell.
Nathaniel Duarte was abruptly kicked out of the line-up in 2016, as the group decided to go with a new member (bass guitarist of Dance Gavin Dance, Tim Feerick) to inflate their popularity.
On June 8, 2017, the band released the single "GreyBlood", their first with bass guitarist Tim Feerick, along with its music video, which premiered on Alternative Press.
On September 10, 2017, it was confirmed by Blue Swan Records that Wolf & Bear is scheduled to released their debut studio album, Everything Is Going Grey, on October 3, 2017.
On June 5, 2018, the band released a five-track live album, Grey Sessions, recorded at Pus Cavern in Sacramento, CA.
Wolf & Bear toured as support on Sianvar's headlining 2019 tour, which took place from January 11 to January 19, in the United States, along with Ghost Atlas.
On February 28, 2019, they released the lead single, "Deleto", along with its music video, from their upcoming EP.
The band attended the first annual SwanFest music festival, hosted by Rise Records and headlined by Dance Gavin Dance, on March 30, 2019 in Anaheim, CA.
On June 4, 2019, they released the second single, "Red Hen". On July 18, 2019, they released their third single "Lifeguard". The group's self-titled EP was released on August 14, 2019, becoming their first release since being dropped by Blue Swan Records. In December 2019, it was confirmed that guitarist Louie Baltazar would return to the band as a guitarist.

Was it the man in the mask or the fool in its place?
Parading around like a wolf in sheep's clothing
Never needed your love until I got lonely
I could never be the things you wanted
Head down looking up to a broken promise
Aiming blindly at a moving target
Hurricane season has start to slow
Trying times will soon come to close
The dead end behind us still up in smoke
Only from ashes will true colors show
And I know that I was supposed to look away
(Look away, look away)
Hate always has to take the best of me
Stagnant but ever present
The truth comes out on canvas
Never felt so disconnected
Feeling low, the wrong perspective
I'm an optimist in a losing fight
When we're pulling on the same rope
Will you loosen your grip?
If you knew me
Could you love me?
I canβ²t think straight
We keep stumbling
We keep stumbling
Wait, donβ²t look down
At the peak of my game
In the lost and found
And I know that I was supposed to look away
(Look away, look away)
Hate always has to take the best of me
Stagnant but ever present
The truth comes out on canvas
Never felt so disconnected
Feeling low, the wrong perspective
I'm an optimist in a losing fight
When weβ²re pulling on the same rope
How do you think you know me
When you can't even take the time?
Do you stay up for hours knowing
That you gave up your peace of mind?
How do you think you know me
When you canβ²t even take the time?
Do you stay up for hours knowing
That you gave up your peace of mind?
Never felt so disconnected
Feeling low, the wrong perspective
I'm an optimist in a losing fight
When weβ²re pulling on the same rope
These lyrics delve into themes of self-reflection, personal struggle, and the complexities of relationships. The first verse presents a sense of confusion and uncertainty, as the singer questions who should be held responsible for their emotional turmoil. They contemplate whether it was the deceptive person wearing a mask or their own naivety that led to their current state. The metaphor of a "wolf in sheep's clothing" suggests that someone may have disguised their true intentions, potentially causing the singer to feel deceived. The line "Never needed your love until I got lonely" hints that the singer may have entered into a relationship out of loneliness rather than genuine affection.
The second verse reflects on the disappointments and broken promises experienced by the singer. They express feeling like a failure, constantly striving for unattainable goals. The imagery of aiming blindly at a moving target highlights the frustration and difficulty they face in finding fulfillment and purpose. The mention of a hurricane season slowing down symbolizes a period of difficult times coming to an end, suggesting that there may be hope for a fresh start. The line "Only from ashes will true colors show" suggests that from the ruins and challenges, one's true character and strength are revealed.
The chorus explores the singer's struggle with negativity and self-awareness. They acknowledge that they should look away from hate but find it difficult to do so, allowing it to consume them. The use of the phrase "the truth comes out on canvas" suggests that the singer may use art or creative expression to convey their emotions and reveal their inner truth. The feeling of disconnection and wrong perspective alludes to a sense of alienation and not fully understanding one's own emotions.
The final verse contemplates the complexities of relationships and the difficulty in truly knowing someone. The singer questions whether someone can truly love and understand them, especially when they don't take the time to truly know them. The line "Do you stay up for hours knowing that you gave up your peace of mind?" implies that the other person may have sacrificed their own well-being in the relationship. The repetition of feeling disconnected and being pulled in different directions symbolizes the struggle to find common ground and maintain harmony.
Overall, these lyrics explore themes of self-doubt, emotional turmoil, and the challenges faced in relationships. The song expresses a desire for understanding, genuine connection, and a resolution to the internal and external conflicts presented throughout the lyrics.
