Nemesis
Wolfheart Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And raised by a rage
Courageous and fearless with vengeance ahead
Retribution ferocious and dire, hatred like fire
Ignite the flames of detest
And with strength ablaze
Rise, no kneeling or repentance
It's eye for an eye
Blood for blood, wounds and scars
From suffering into submission towards
Total reprisal
Desecration with no remorse
Violate and defile the ones
Who spilled the blood of the innocents
Acts so dreadful and vile
Sacrilegious deed
Sin against the life
Sacred and hallowed
I am the nemesis
I'm the destroyer
I'm eternal fire
With strength I burn
In fire of wrath I am reborn
Rise, no kneeling or repentance
No self sacrifice
It's eye for an eye
Blood for blood. wounds and scars
From suffering into submission towards
Total reprisal
Rise, no self sacrifice
No kneeling or repentance
It's eye for an eye
Blood for blood
From suffering into submission
Towards total reprisal
The lyrics of Wolfheart's "Nemesis" tell a story of vengeance and retribution. The singer of the song is a "retaliator" who was born from a "wrath" and raised by a "rage." This person is "courageous and fearless," seeking revenge against those who have wronged them. The lyrics make it clear that this is not a person who will kneel or repent; they believe in an "eye for an eye" and "blood for blood."
The words go on to describe the acts of "desecration with no remorse" that the singer commits against those who have "spilled the blood of the innocents." The deeds they commit are "so dreadful and vile" that they are "sacrilegious" and "sinful" against the "sacred and hallowed" value of life. The song's final lines make it clear that the singer sees themselves as a "nemesis" and a "destroyer," with an "eternal fire" that burns in them.
Overall, the lyrics of "Nemesis" are dark and intense, painting a picture of someone who is willing to go to great lengths to seek revenge against those they view as enemies. The lyrics capture the emotion of anger and the desire for retribution that can drive someone to take drastic action.
