2. World Peace formed in March 2012, these citizens of planet earth formed out of a shared loved for loud, scratchy, atonal punk bands. Conal plays guitar, Sinead (who is in Palms and before that Divorce) plays bass and sings and Brodie (ex-Eternal Fags) takes on drums-n-vocals. Think Minutemen, Stretchheads, Teenage Jesus and maybe a little bit of The Fall. World Peace have a cassette EP due for release this year via Clan Destine Records.

the elders of zion came vowing to provide
promised land uncharted
apathy imparted
blood, bullets, and the wrath of the one who's called the son
The song "Promised Land" by World Peace explores the concept of a false reality - a surrogate reality which is amplified by those in power. The opening lines, "surrogate reality, falsehood amplified" suggests that the world we live in is not real, but rather a constructed reality that is designed to keep us under control.
The next line, "the elders of Zion came vowing to provide" refers to the Elders of Zion, a notorious hoax that claimed that Jewish leaders were conspiring to take over the world. The line suggests that those in power are promising to provide us with a better world, but in reality, they are only interested in maintaining their own power.
The chorus of the song, "promised land uncharted, apathy imparted" suggests that the world we live in is a promised land, but it is one that we do not fully understand. We are lost in this world, unable to find our way to a better future. The line "apathy imparted" suggests that we have become complacent, accepting the reality that is presented to us, rather than fighting for change.
The final line, "blood, bullets, and the wrath of the one who's called the son" refers to the violent means that those in power use to maintain their control. The "son" referred to here could be interpreted as a messianic figure, who promises to deliver us from the oppressive reality we find ourselves in.
Overall, the lyrics of "Promised Land" suggest that we are trapped in a false reality, oppressed by those in power who promise us a better world, but are only interested in maintaining their own control. The song urges us to resist this reality and fight for true change.
