Driver
Wrister Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lilly white, an object of trance
Bleary sighs and quiet commands
I guess we should cancel plans
Or, take a reminder
When I can’t find desire
Tell me who, is the driver
Who’s quicker than me
We socialize to balance ourselves
Emotions run in parallel
We used to submit to the spell
Now we’re complying
When I can’t find desire
Tell me who, is the driver
Who’s quicker than me
When I can’t find desire
I still stand by the fire in me
Well the whole conversation
Reaches points of inflation, it peaks

When I can’t find desire
Tell me who

Overall Meaning

, is the driver
Who’s quicker than me
When I can’t find desire
I still stand by the fire in me

In these lyrics, Wrister explores the complexities of desire and control within a relationship. The reference to Lilly white as an object of trance suggests that she is a captivating figure, someone who holds power and influence over the singer. However, this power dynamic becomes complicated as the singer expresses uncertainty and resignation. Bleary sighs and quiet commands indicate a sense of weariness and a lack of agency, as the singer contemplates canceling plans or succumbing to the whims of the other person.

The line "We used to submit to the spell, now we're complying" suggests a shift in the relationship dynamic. It implies that there was once a time when the singer and Lilly white willingly surrendered to the enchantment and control of their connection. However, now they find themselves complying instead of willingly submitting, indicating a loss of passion or desire.

The repeated question, "When I can’t find desire, tell me who is the driver?" underscores the confusion and conflict within the singer's mind. They are grappling with the question of who holds the power in the relationship, particularly when their own desires are elusive. The longing to find desire and the need for someone who is "quicker" than them serves as a plea for a partner who can inspire and ignite passion within them.

The final lines, "When I can't find desire, I still stand by the fire in me," suggest that despite the uncertainty and vulnerabilities expressed throughout the song, the singer still holds onto a strong sense of self and inner strength. Even when they struggle to find desire or understand the dynamics of their relationship, they are determined to remain true to themselves and hold onto their own passions and desires. This could be interpreted as a message of self-empowerment and resilience in the face of confusion and vulnerability.

This might be the most useful driver video I’ve ever watched - makes sense and can feel the difference straight away. Range tomorrow to test it out!

@ElanBrio

This is nutrients for my swing ! I hit a drive 290 after watching the video and my GIR went up to 50 % super awesome video the arms too was the glue to my consistency

@williamwilson6297

Quality instruction, Russell! Thank you!

@edwinfowler765

Your instruction is the best. The one flaw that creeps into my driver swing is trying to help the ball at impact . I know better but the right side starts trying to hit the ball at impact instead of letting the left side swing through the ball . I would like to see a video of swing thoughts to counteract that . I don’t think I’ve seen one addressing that . Thanks in advance.

@russellheritagegolf

Great point will have a think

@pohoresky

Brilliant insight into consequences of flexing lead wrist and rotating left forearm clockwise can have in getting club head behind the hands and in creating an in to out swing path curing slicing once and for all.

@hammockmonk

Beautiful set Russell, and nice sign. Makes for a very sharp-looking video. Cheers!

@TheSteelerider

Omg. This is huge for me. Watching video of my swing, I barely rotate my chest. Great stuff.

@collapsedsilence

Hey Russell, thanks again for the great content. Great timing for this video.... Wanted to ask your opinion on the cost value of the hackmotion for personal use. Looking into the, the affordable model seems like it's missing a lot of the critical data that someone willing to even spend that much would want to analyze in their home practice. Think it's worth it, or do you really recommend buying the pro version more for coaches to get the value of the device?
