Beneath your skin, and in your dream
It's who you are, It's how you feel,
Guiding star you're driving with
Sing
(Let it take, let it make, never break you now)
Sing
Sing, your heart out
It's on the street, neon glare
The hard concrete, the cold night air
It's in your voice,
The way you sound,
Have no choice, but come unwound
Sing
(your songs of truth and pain, all the things you can't explain)
Sing
(The way you feel inside, let the music be your guide)
Sing, your heart out
Sing it like you hear it,
Like you have no need to fear it now,
Sing it like you know it,
Like you're not afraid to show us how,
Sing from somewhere way down deep,
Sing and make the angels weep,
Sing til you can't sing no more
Sing
(Your songs of joy and light, make your mark with all your might)
Sing
(Your songs of hope and fear, sing the songs that sent you here)
Sing, Your heart out
Sing
Sing
Sing
Your heart out
Sing
Sing, your heart out
In "Sing" by Wynonna Judd, the lyrics express a message of being true to oneself and allowing one's voice and passion to be expressed through music. The song speaks of the various elements that make up an individual's inner being, including the wind, noise, and steam beneath the skin, and in dreams. It's about embracing who you are and following your guiding star, letting music and singing be the vehicle for personal expression.
The lyrics paint a vivid picture of life in the city, with its hard concrete, neon glare, and cold night air. Despite these harsh surroundings, the song encourages people to find their voice and to express themselves through music. It's an anthem to those voices that aren't often heard, calling on people to sing from somewhere way deep and make the angels weep. The song encourages the expression of all emotions, both positive and negative, as this is necessary to truly be authentic and true to oneself.
