Xavier Naidoo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
Beim Klang deiner Stimme
Wie man am langen Haar sieht
Erzählen und singen
Zum Klang deiner Stimme
So zärtlich und mächtig
In einem Wort prächtig
Gott segne die Heimat
Glücklich, wer ein Heim hat
Das Ziel deiner Träume
Diese eigenen Räume
Die Schuhe der Kinder
Schutz vor dem Winter
Im Kreis deiner Lieben
Bist du nicht zu besiegen
Und sie jauchzen und springen
Beim Klang deiner Stimme
Haben so lang gewartet
Wie man am langen Haar sieht
Erzählen und singen
Zum Klang deiner Stimme
So zärtlich und mächtig
In einem Wort prächtig
Deine Zeilen entstammen
Einer Feder in Flammen
Zeichnet Bilder wie nur
Worte sie brennen
Ich hab' Zuhause gesehen
Sah euch vor mir stehen
Unser Zuhause gesehen
Ich will euch wiedersehen
Und sie jauchzen und springen
Beim Klang deiner Stimme (oh oh oh)
Haben so lang gewartet (haben so lang gewartet)
Wie man am langen Haar sieht
Erzählen und singen (und singen)
Zum Klang deiner Stimme (zum Klang deiner Stimme)
So zärtlich und mächtig (so zärtlich und mächtig)
In einem Wort prächtig
The lyrics of Xavier Naidoo's song "Zuhause" convey a deep sense of longing for home and the strong emotional connection it holds. The opening lines describe the transition from the vast open sea to a bay and harbor, symbolizing the journey back home. The singer expresses eagerness to return home soon, as indicated by the lyrics "Nicht mehr lange und ich bin zuhaus" (Not much longer, and I'll be home). The inability to sleep at night due to dreaming of being in the familiar surroundings of the garden evokes a sense of homesickness and anticipation.
The imagery of standing in the garden and being reunited with loved ones creates a sense of warmth and comfort. The joy and excitement felt upon hearing the familiar voice of a loved one are highlighted as people emerge from their homes to greet the singer. The lines "Wie viele Nächte schon kann ich nicht schlafen? / Denn ich träum', ich steh' im Garten" (How many nights have I not been able to sleep? / Because I dream, I stand in the garden) illustrate the power of nostalgia and the yearning for home.
The chorus emphasizes the power of the singer's voice to bring happiness and celebration, as indicated by the phrases "Und sie jauchzen und springen / Beim Klang deiner Stimme" (And they cheer and jump / At the sound of your voice). The notion of blessing one's homeland and the gratitude for having a place to call home are reflected in the lines "Gott segne die Heimat / Glücklich, wer ein Heim hat" (God bless the homeland / Happy is he who has a home). The sense of security, love, and resilience that come from being surrounded by family and familiar spaces is emphasized in the lyrics.
The final verses delve into the power of words and music to evoke vivid images and emotions, symbolized by the description of words as "einer Feder in Flammen" (a feather in flames). The desire to see and be with one's loved ones again is expressed with intensity and longing. The repetition of the chorus further reinforces the theme of reunion, joy, and the deep emotional connection to home. Overall, the song "Zuhause" captures the essence of yearning for home, the strength found in familial bonds, and the joy of being reunited with loved ones.
