Those of us who grew up in the 80's are getting old, but damn it, we had the best music. Saw these guys at the Concord Pavilion (CA) in the mid-80's. Everyone was stoned and cool, no bombs or mass shootings or crazy shit. Those were great times.

Pop's must be my age, I saw them 30 years ago as well. It was in a small venue in the S.F. bay area before the really took off. They kicked ass! There music has aged well, its just as good today as it was then. I hope you guys enjoyed the show.

Yes, it's aged AWESOMELY! I cannot listen to literally 95% of 80's rock these days even though that's what I was into back in the day.

But Y&T's tunes, their sound, Meniketti's singing, most of their lyrics, etc. is just as fresh now as then, maybe even more so as I've grown up and lived a little more. Looking back, they were almost too mature. Lots of people comment that they should've been bigger since they were a far superior band compared to their contemporaries. While I agree on the merits, I do think that had Y&T had a better name and some sort of gimmick or social/marketing persona, like Motley did with their Shout at the Devil post Apocalyptic shtick, Y&T would've been huge. For better or worse, they were just too normal as human beings in the early 80's post KISS/post Zeppelin era when people were ripe for mythical larger than life entertainment in the hard rock/metal arena. Unfortunately they caved to record company pressure and went glam in the mid 80's which made no sense, they were full grown alpha men and rocked way too hard to do the glam thing...

Sitting in my dorm room as a freshman in '82 and my roommate was playing this on his cassette player. Who... the hell... is this?!?! Never heard of Yesterday and Today....
I was hooked, and this is the song that got me. Luckily I got to see them in concert with the original lineup, opened for Heart. Actually, my gf at the time said it could be the other way around.

I am an OTR (long haul) truck driver from the SF bay area and Y&T is always my go to driving music. As a kid (now 45) my brother took me to my first party/concert and Y&T was playing in a little warehouse. Been hooked ever since.

What a trip down memory lane.
A band I produced in the 1980s used to open for Y and T once in a while and they were the best nights ever. And I can remember hanging out with Leonard in a rehearsal space in Marin county
Damn those were good times.
Y and T was so underrated. It should have exploded nationally but it never seemed to get the success it rightfully deserved.

I saw them just shred the Catylist in Santa Cruz years ago. Just a couple of weeks ago, my youngest son was going through my old vinyl albums and pulled out all of my old Y&T and Yesterday and Today records. He says " hey dad who are these old phucks you used to listen to "? I said " just put one of the records on, anyone of them and sit back." He listens to them and when he gets to "Rescue Me", he shuts it down and with his mother in the room, says to me. " I bet getting girls was easy with this music". Great fugg'n band, discovered them a little too late, picked up a Y&T tape in 1990 and instantly feel in love with their stuff when everyone was either going grunge or rap. I saw them at the Top Rank,Reading about 1980.This was on a 12" single.Can't remember what the B side was but it was clearly audible on the reverse side of the same record.
