I had an opportunity to travel there and did so as an athiest strictly out of curiosity in history and architecture.
Definately was in the minority of the typical tourists and I live in the "Bible Belt" [Southern most States in the USA]
I'm not surprised it's a common psychosis.

@Martha Newsome Well, a church is only a building. Granted some are very old and ornate and brautiful. But the 'ecclessia,' the church body, dosen't do a lot of sitting. At least mine dosent. We operate hospitals. Homes for the aged. Social services and missions and educational programs. A church is not only a building.koo

Was our lord even the truth? THE STORY IS INTERESTING. I DO ENJOY THE BIBLE. THE SPIRIT WAS A JUMPER. Time is on his side yes it is. Never been to any of these sites, I don't think these people are crazy either. Pastor Paul was a humble man whom dragged his cross thru the streets on Easter for years in my home town of pekin Illinois. He saved my brother Matt's life once and so did I second . Imagine the passing transference surprise I received ten years later. I never asked to be born either or again, nor was a contract offered to me when I heard them telling me all about me. My first Bible has a lucky 4 leaf clover on it and Corinthians first and second I did write of the seasons under the sun. I never told or shown anyone till this very day. I'm not going to either. I struggle today three years ; chased ; I had that Bible for 20 years and read most of it, then it shown me to turn to random page at will and there on 2020 after the Xmas star 🌟 my 40th birthday on January 10th.
