Fun Fact: An actual Amazon tribe (who were very nice and friendly) played the cannibal tribe in the movie. When the crew approached them to be in the movie, they realized the tribe had no idea what a movie was. To show them, Eli (the film's director) brought in a TV and played "Cannibal Holocaust", a movie similar to this one. The tribe liked it and thought it was a comedy. Some that signed up to be extras even ended up working as crew members. The villagers also really appreciated being in the movie.

Those darts...IM injections take 10-15 minutes to work so unless the tribe happened to hit you perfectly in a vein or artery, you'd have at least 10 minutes before losing consciousness, so the dude with the tracker would have had more than enough time to set it off. Also, after escaping the cage, even if they blow darted you right away, you'd have at least 10 mins to try and find somewhere to hide until you regained consciouness

The fact that they didn't even know the name of the tribe they were trying to help is a sadly realistic part of this movie, most mission trips/"service" in developing countries is designed to benefit the students far more than the locals. Obviously they didn't deserve being butchered lmao but anyone who thinks about doing a volunteer trip should be careful to understand where they're going, what's selfish for tourists to do in foreign countries, and what the benefit of their work will actually be

Agreed. i knew a guy in my class who went to Slovenia for 2 weeks (wouldnt stop talking bout it) for a mission trip with his church. Less of a mission trip, more like a two week vacation with some mass thrown in and a few bouts of feeding the poor. Those kinds of trips are definitely more for the individual than those they are "helping," considering the shelters they visited already had enough staff to volunteer. Extra hands is nice, but if you are planning on a mission trip, do research on what you're actually getting into and the practicality/benefits of what youre doing.

The best part about this movie is that those villagers aren't actors at all they are real indigenous tribes-people, Eli Roth had to basically mime and mimic the movements and show them what to do and play with the fake bloody body parts, they thought it was fun. Although they aren't complete cannibals, they have no idea about the modern world or technology or movies or anything. This movie is so good, first time I saw it I almost got sick xD

Tips for anyone who actually wants to visit the amazon:
- Don't go to the Peruvian side of the forest, as Peru itself is very sparsely populated. Go to the brazilian side, as the brazilian government cathegorizes every indigenous tribe, contacted or not
- NEVER mess with the workers, they are used to dealing with protesters and many carry guns
- If you find yourself lost in the amazon, go DOWNSTREAM, most rivers in the amazon all end in the amazon river, which has many "big" cities along it, worst case scenario, you end up in the ocean.

Alejandro's survival makes sense only two ways: Either he escaped the cage after all the warriors left, which is unlikely considering they likely would have kept at least 1 guard around, or more likely he's alive because so many male members of the tribe died fighting the construction crew that the women of the tribe elected to let him live to breed.

I don’t know, I feel like if I were the tribespeople and I knew I were getting into a war with people with firearms then I’d want all the help I can get. They also have no reason to keep him trapped, if they somehow win the battle then they will have more than enough dead bodies to keep them fed and hopefully some living ones as well given the darts, if they lose the battle then leaving him trapped is not useful at all because they all died or had to retreat to a different part of the forest and I heavily doubt they’d want to carry a fully grown man with them in their swift retreat. The women and children went to fight as well so I believe they did think that they needed all of their people to fight off the threat.

It was way too little weed, though. At most, it was 5 grams.
Even if it became in edible form while cooking, it was concentrated in the mouth, so it wouldn't have spread.
They were also in open air, so the probability of all the village getting high is low... AND for all them to get high from 5 grams is pushing what it can do.
They were high off their rockers, for that to happen, you need to either smoke a LOT of weed or smoke some concentrate (hash (made from a high THC weed that also has strong effects) or wax).
