Someday
Yellowcard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well it's a tragedy
(Maybe ....? travesty)

A young boy with nowhere left to turn

..? do this out of love
(For some strange reason he's been fucked)
And now the raised flag is all he wants to want

When will it end?
Can't even trust his friends

When it comes to push and shove
He's all alone
And when will someone
Somehow
Someday
Some time
Some way...

So he spends his lonely nights
(Searching arguments for missing fights)

Trying to see in the dark

Searching
For the light

Take a break from the ?? of life

When will it end?
Can't even trust his friends

When it comes to push and shove
He's all alone
And when will someone
Somehow
Someday
Some time
Some way...

When will it end?
Can't even trust his friends

When it comes to push and shove
He's all alone
And when will someone
Somehow
Someday
Some time
Some way

Someday...

The lyrics of Yellowcard's song "Someday" describe the struggles of a young boy who feels lost and alone. The song starts off with the line "Well it's a tragedy" indicating the tone of the song- one of sadness and despair. The young boy has nowhere left to turn and feels as though the world has turned against him. He has been let down by those closest to him and "can't even trust his friends." Ben Dobson, Yellowcard's first singer wrote this song together with Sean Odonel (Violinist), it expresses feelings that in Yellowcard have always been, to fulfill their dreams all together by going somewhere where they can be appreciated and be famous along with how difficult it is to own way and that some things cease and do not return. But you must continue since there are friends who keep you on your feet. Being the last song on the album, Midget Tossing begins Where We Stand, which further reflects this message and path taken by our Yellowcard friends in their punk-era.
