After much acrimony, however, Dominik van Reich quit the band to start his own project amGod, while Peter Devin took the yelworC name and worked on a variety of tracks. Due to a variety of factors (a house fire, the death of his mother, dissatisfaction with record labels), he postponed the release of what was to become the second LP Trinity (a release inspired by Dante's Inferno) until 2004.
Devin is currently working on the follow-ups to Trinity, which are described as inspired by the other stories of Dante's Divine Comedy: Purgatory and Heaven.

After Laughter
YelworC Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Enough, enough
Enough of sanctimonious morality
Essence awake
Unnamed forms preach the bible of insanity
Corruption is the true face of dignity
Strength in my purpose
The uprights lock up themselves in hot burning dungeon
Their martyrdom works no marvel no more
Enough of sanctimonious morality
Corruption is the true face of dignity
Their martyrdom works no marvel no more
There are snipers who take the sanction; gore, gore, gore
In YelworC's song "After Laughter," the lyrics critique the notion of morality and how it has been used to manipulate and control people. The singer declares that two thousand years of preaching and preaching have been enough, and that people should wake up and realize that the so-called "sanctimonious morality" is nothing but a facade. The "unnamed forms" preach the bible of insanity, implying that those in power who claim to be moral and virtuous are actually insane.
The lyrics then shift to focus on corruption, which is revealed to be the true face of dignity. The singer states that they have strength in their purpose, which is to expose the falsehoods and hypocrisy of those in power. The "uprights," or those who claim to be righteous, are locked up in a burning dungeon - a metaphor for their own self-imposed imprisonment due to their beliefs. The singer then declares that their martyrdom no longer works any marvel; in other words, the righteousness they claim to have is no longer effective in manipulating people.
The song ends with a chilling warning about snipers who take the sanction, implying that those who resist the corrupt morality will be met with violence and bloodshed. Overall, the lyrics of "After Laughter" provide a critical commentary on the ways in which morality can be used as a tool of oppression and control.
