Took a hundred thou' to my jeweler, told him freeze me
I can fuck your bitch any day of the week, believe me
Pulling up in all type of foreigns, shit, that's how we be
Ain't nothing more important than getting this money, believe me
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Believe me, believe me, believe me
A hundred with the jeweler (VS)
In the club spending money, shining like a hooper (ball)
I'm the type of nigga split a million with the shooters (trap)
I look up to the bosses like Tookie and Larry Hoover (hey)
Yeah, neck full of ice (ice)
Did a lot of wrongs just to get my money right (right)
I tell these rappers stay away with that fake shit (stay away)
'Cause I got niggas 'round me that still like to take shit (for real), yeah
She calls all my cars spaceships, yeah (spaceships)
I work the trap in the day shift, yeah (day shift)
A crack baby worth ten mil, yeah (ten mil)
Still turnin' down record deals, ha
Believe me
Took a hundred thou' to my jeweler, told him freeze me
I can fuck your bitch any day of the week, believe me
Pulling up in all type of foreigns, shit, that's how we be
Ain't nothing more important than getting this money, believe me
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Believe me, believe me, believe me
Took a hundred to my motherfuckin' jeweler just to freeze me
If you my nigga, you my nigga then
I told all of my bitches that they mine forever
I told all my niggas we don't compete, we shine together
Extra money buried for my son and I can't wait to tell him
Lil' nigga you got a million dollar shovel (dig it up)
In the streets, felt like I was dancing with the devil (uh-huh)
Made a lot of money, lost a lot of friends though (damn)
Your homies loyal 'til that one time you tell 'em no (damn)
I vow to never let another nigga raise my kids (nah)
Nigga them your responsibilities, not his (for real)
Real niggas walk in, and they get nervous (why)
Everything I'm getting right now, I deserve it
Believe me
Took a hundred thou' to my jeweler, told him freeze me
I can fuck your bitch any day of the week, believe me
Pulling up in all type of foreigns, shit, that's how we be
Ain't nothing more important than getting this money, believe me
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Yeah we here now, but it wasn't easy
Believe me, believe me, believe me
Took a hundred to my motherfuckin' jeweler just to freeze me (freeze me)
The song Believe Me by Young Dolph is a story about his journey to success and the struggles he had along the way. He talks about how he took a hundred thousand dollars to his jeweler just to freeze him, which means to get his jewelry iced out. He brags about his ability to get any woman he wants and his collection of foreign cars. He emphasizes that the most important thing to him is making money, and that's what drives him. He recognizes that his success did not come easily, but he and his team worked hard to get where they are. He also speaks about his loyalty to his friends and family, burying extra money for his son's future, and deciding to take responsibility for raising his children himself.
The opening line, "That boy Cash, believe me" refers to Young Dolph’s friend and business partner, Key Glock, who goes by the nickname Cash. The two have collaborated on several projects and their partnership has been essential to both of their successes. The line "Tookie and Larry Hoover" references two prominent gang leaders who have been idolized by Dolph's friends and associates.
Young Dolph’s mentor, Gucci Mane, initially released the song “Believe Me” on his album “Mr. Davis” before Dolph released his version of the song. In Dolph’s version, he changes the lyrics to tell his own story.
In the music video for the song, Young Dolph is seen with his crew surrounded by wads of cash, exotic cars, and beautiful women. The video reflects the lavish lifestyle the rapper has attained.
The song was produced by Drumma Boy, who has produced for other famous rappers like Gucci Mane, T.I., and Wiz Khalifa.
