Only 20, Yuridia has become one of the highest selling artists in Mexico. Her debut album (consisting of songs that she interpreted during the contest) has reached the diamond selling category (for over 700,000 copies sold), a feat only achieved in the last 10 years by solo artist Luis Miguel, as well as the music group RBD. Not only has she become the highest selling artist to come out of the reality-tv talent show, but her powerful strong chest and head voice, along with her wide mezzosoprano vocal range, have earned her the nickname Voz de un Angel (Voice of an Angel). She is considered to be among the best female voices in Mexico since the 80s (when brilliant artists such as Lupita D'alessio, Dulce and Yuri were top stars in the Mexican scene).
In late September of 2006, her record company, Sony BMG, announced the release of Yuridia's new Album, titled Habla El Corazon, which will feature English covers of well-known artists such as Bonnie Tyler and the The Police. "Como yo", and "Habla el corazón" (covers from Bon Jovi and Roxette) were among the singles released from the CD.
The Rose
Yuridia Lyrics

That drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razer
That leaves your soul to blead
Some say love it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying
That never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you find that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed
That with the sun's love
In the spring
Becomes the rose
The lyrics to Yuridia's song The Rose explain love from different perspectives. The first two verses present two contrasting views on love. To some, love is a river that leaves one feeling helpless and vulnerable after getting swept up in its current. To others, love is like a razor that cuts deep into the soul, causing pain and emotional scars. In the next two verses, Yuridia offers her own take on love - love is like a flower, and the person she loves is the seed that makes it bloom.
Yuridia highlights the fears and doubts that come with love. The heart afraid of breaking never learns to dance, while the dream that is afraid of waking never takes a chance. Those who refuse to give themselves to love end up feeling unfulfilled and left behind. And the soul that is afraid of dying will never truly learn to live.
However, Yuridia ends the song on a hopeful note. She reminds the listener that even in the coldest, darkest of times, there is always a seed of love that can grow and bloom in the spring. The rose is a symbol of the beauty and resilience of love.
Overall, the song suggests that love is complex and multifaceted, involving both pain and beauty. But even in the midst of heartbreak and uncertainty, there is always hope for new growth and new love.
