The echoes fill your soul
They won't say which way to go
Just trust your heart
To find what you're here for
Open another door
But I'm not sure anymore
Voices in my head
Tell me they know best
Got me on the edge
They're pushin', pushin', they're pushin'
I know they've got a plan
But the ball's in my hands
This time is man-to-man
I'm drivin', fightin', inside of
(A world that's upside down)
It's spinning faster
What do I do now
Without you?
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
I'm kicking down the walls
I gotta make them fall
Just break through them all
I'm punchin', crushin', I'm gonna
Fight to find myself
Me, and no one else
Which way, I can't tell
I'm searchin', searchin', can't find a
(Way that I should turn)
I should, to right or left, it
It's like nothing works
Without you
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
Yeah, the clock's running down,
Hear the crowd getting loud
I'm consumed by the sound
Is it her?
Is it love?
Can the music ever be enough?
Gotta work it out!
Gotta work it out!
You can do it!
You can do it!
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
So bad I'm gonna scream
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
I don't know where to go
What's the right team
I want my own thing
I want my own thing
I can't chose, so confused
What's it all mean
I want my own dream
So bad I'm gonna scream
Oh
Ah
The lyrics of the song Scream by Zac Efron convey a feeling of confusion and frustration when it comes to making difficult decisions about one's own dreams and aspirations. The song begins by describing a feeling of being lost and unable to decide which path to take when the door of opportunity is closed. The lyrics suggest that it's important to trust one's heart and keep searching for other doors to open. However, the singer is unsure of what to do, the voices in his head seem to know better, and he feels pushed to choose something that he's not quite sure about.
The chorus repeats the sentiment of feeling lost and confused, with the singer desperately wanting to find his own thing and screaming out for answers. The verses describe a struggle to break through walls, to find oneself, and to make a decision that feels right. The lyrics of the song convey a message of perseverance, the need to push through and find one's own way, even when it seems like nothing works, and everything is spinning out of control.
Overall, the song Scream is about the need to find oneself and pursue one's dreams, even when faced with confusion and uncertainty. The lyrics suggest that by trusting one's heart and pushing through difficult times, it is possible to find the way forward and make one's dreams a reality.

Honestly, besides the falling basketballs, this is some of the most realistic shit that disney has ever put out. It's about having to figure out what's right for yourself, instead of doing something just to please others. I think everyone can relate to that. Nowadays disney is just basically just all about attempting to be a singer. Hsm taught you that whether you love drama, sports, dancing, academics, cooking, singing, or whatever was okay, and you can still be friends with those who are different than you. I miss it.

I totally agree. I literally saw this and was like: "well now I have nothing to say cuz I'll be copying"

puggles123 I think the basketballs are a metaphor for everything crashing down on you in your mind.

puggles123 HSM was so, so special. So many great lessons in these movies. They also won awards for how diverse the movies were in terms of race. It really does teach kids that it's OK to be different. It's one of the many reasons I love these movies so much. I have loved HSM since I was 8 years old and I'm 19 now. You can bet I'll be first in line for HSM4 haha.
Ryan Sunderman
HSM is iconic Disney, and they will never top it with Disney Channel. If they had released the trilogy in theaters, I'm fairly certain it would have been some Disney's highest grossing releases.

I went to the high school that this was filmed at. It's crazy how many tourists and fanatics hovered in the hallways and reenacted scenes like this.
