Dreamtime
Zee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
shadows on the wall
your breath in my skin
love was all, but now its nothing
such a big mistake
to waste a chance like this
i am? warned?
dreamtime
think of me
and i´ll be back some time
(x6)
dreamtime
just close your eyes
just close your eyes
and when you sleep, our thoughts will come around
such precious words that mean, i love you and i hate you,
cant you see, i only? wanted? every way from you
now i´m gone
The song "Dreamtime" by Zee begins with the lyrics "just close your eyes, shadows on the wall, your breath in my skin," setting a dreamy, romantic tone. The singer seems to be reflecting on a past relationship, lamenting the fact that it has ended in nothing. They express regret for wasting a chance at love and acknowledge that it was a big mistake. The chorus repeats the phrase "dreamtime, just close your eyes," emphasizing the idea of escaping into a dream world where the singer can still be with their former lover. The singer promises that they will return in some way, even if only in the other person's dreams.
The second verse adds more depth to the story of the failed relationship, suggesting that there were some intense emotions involved. The singer reminisces about "precious words" that were exchanged, possibly including declarations of love and some harsh words as well. They express a desire for their former lover, lamenting that they wanted "every way" from them but now they are gone. Overall, the song expresses a longing for an idealized, dreamlike version of a lost love.
