Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Round & Round" by Zero T convey the artist's experiences and perspectives on success, relationships, and the challenges faced in the industry. The song opens with the lines "Aye cut me up Richie, Triple A hoe, Turn me up, All the way up," indicating his desire to be heard and recognized in his craft. The references to "Winner Circle," "Loso," and "Gang" suggest a sense of belonging and a close-knit group.

The first verse describes Zero T's exposure to drug addicts and individuals who have achieved significant financial success, emphasizing that he has been surrounded by both extremes. He mentions being pursued by women who are infatuated with him, but also highlights the bridges that have been burned in his life due to the behavior of others. The line "Never learn til' it's hot in the kitchen, Your vision blurred, You too worried bout swishers" suggests that some people only realize the consequences of their actions when they face difficulties or challenges, and they become consumed by superficial concerns.

The chorus repeats the cycle of experiences and observations, with Zero T reiterating his encounters with drug addicts, individuals who have seen great wealth, and women enamored with him. He again mentions burned bridges, emphasizing that some people never learn until they face the consequences in difficult situations. The line "Your vision blurred, You too worried bout swishers" suggests that people are distracted by trivial matters, such as smoking swisher cigars, instead of focusing on more important aspects of life.

In the second verse, Zero T describes feeling isolated and detached from society ("Stuck in asylum, Secluded millennium Hybrids I'm on a diet"). He uses metaphorical language to express the desire to eliminate negative influences ("Kill em all virus, Cue all the sirens") and reach a higher level of consciousness or spirituality ("Now I'm on way to Osiris"). The mention of "finishing the mission" and not necessarily seeking millions or fame implies a determination to make a significant impact, even if the rewards are not materialistic.

The verse continues with Zero T reflecting on the value of relationships and the dangers of becoming enslaved to societal expectations ("You want the fame you want the bitches you a slave to a system"). He expresses a sense of power and control, stating that he runs the system like William, possibly referencing William Shakespeare's influence in literature. Overall, the lyrics convey Zero T's experiences with various elements of life, the music industry, and his introspective thoughts on navigating success and relationships.

They did a great job!!

I really don't think their intention was to replace Tevin Campbell. I truly believe they were singing it to entertain and probably have the utmost respect for him and his music. Personally, I think they did a fine job performing this song. However, it's good to see there are devoted fans out there like you patrolling YouTube for evil impersonators. -Thanks for the comment.
