Born of Russian and Moroccan descent, Zino was always interested in different cultures and music, blending his love of folk and rock with Celtic, Scandinavian, and Romanian music, among other influences. His career began with a stint in a military band, after which he collaborated with Israeli musicians on various compilations before recording The Gibberish Album in 1992. This "half circus, half musical" brought 115 musicians and singers from different cultures together on one stage to sing in gibberish-what Zino describes as "folk songs for an imaginary village." Zino's next album, 1993's A Bit of Lust, a Bit of Tenderness, a Bit of Love, was a major milestone in the development of Israeli alternative and hard rock music and made him the "bad boy" of Israeli rock.
Zino's next CDs ranged from alternative rock (Drive By) to hip-hop tracks with Zino's innovative production/sampler techniques (Zino And The Human BeatBox).
In 2000, Zino became front-page news in the Israeli media when he disguised himself as a war-scarred singer. Dubbing himself "The Burned Man," he created a fictitious biography and appeared in public disguised as a burned, masked cripple. The Israeli media gave The Burned Man and his mysterious story prime-time coverage, during which Zino revealed his true identity. After this "artistic terror act," The Burned Man's first CD was released, becoming one of Israel's all-time best-selling albums. A second title followed soon after.
Zino began collaborating with Tommy in 1997, and they have since released the CDs Travels With My Amp and Invisible Things, with songs ranging from funk to rock to trance and chill-out.

Those blue, denim jeans sure fit you fine
You're still wrapped around this heart of mine
I watched you leavin', I stopped breathin'
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
Me loving you and you runnin' free
Kickin' myself for feeling this way
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
There's a pain in my heart a cold spot in my bed
Memories of you churning in my head
Thinking about things I should've said
It's wrong I know, but I can't let you go
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
Me loving you and you runnin' free
Kickin' myself for feeling this way
I keep thinking that you'll change your mind someday
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
I reach for you, there's emptiness
I need your touch, but there's no caress
And This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
Me loving you and you runnin' free
Kickin' myself for feeling this way
I keep thinking that you'll change your mind someday
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be
The lyrics to Zino & Tommy's song "Ain't No Way" depict a sense of longing and heartache stemming from unrequited love. The singer struggles with their feelings for someone who seems to be unavailable and distant. The imagery of the person entering the room and the singer choking on their wine suggests a sudden and overwhelming attraction, highlighting the intensity of the emotions involved.
The mention of the blue denim jeans fitting the person fine hints at a physical attraction, while the line "You're still wrapped around this heart of mine" conveys the lingering hold the person has on the singer's emotions even after they have left. The act of watching them leave and feeling like they can't breathe further illustrates the impact this individual has on the singer's life.
The chorus emphasizes the pain and confusion the singer feels, as they express their frustration at loving someone who seems to be unwilling or unable to reciprocate. The repetition of "This Ain't The Way It's Supposed To Be" underscores the sense of disappointment and disbelief at the current situation. Despite knowing that it's not healthy to hold on, the singer can't help but hope for a change in their lover's feelings in the future.
The verses delve deeper into the singer's inner turmoil, with references to a cold spot in the bed and memories of the person haunting their thoughts. The struggle to let go is palpable as the singer grapples with their emotions and desires. The final lines about reaching for the person and feeling emptiness, longing for their touch but receiving no response, encapsulate the poignant sense of yearning and unfulfilled longing present throughout the song. Overall, "Ain't No Way" captures the bittersweet essence of unrequited love and the internal conflict that comes with it.
