Eventhough I never touched IKARI in my life, I can totally understand why this theme would feel nostalgic! I kinda feel like I have heard it before to be honest lol
KOFXIV is, despite its "flaws" here and there, a big love letter to old SNK fans, a nice way to say "We are back, we missed you and we hope you missed us too". Music is a thing, but even battle animations, secret custom teams and character interactions bring a smile on my face^^

Many people don't know Clark and Ralf come from a non fighting game nowadays, back in 94 it was all the rage, "the fury warriors" looked like Rambo clones, in the neogeo CD and pstone versions of kof96 their loading screen has them in just pants, wielding m60s and the bullet chains,just like in their debut game.
