Life keeps getting harder and more challenging, rather than improving and moving towards greater success and happiness.

I burn these tracks that I've laid
I'm determined to destroy all the evidence of my past mistakes and failures, to move forward with a clean slate and a fresh start.

I've been struggling with addiction, trying to break free from its grip but been unsuccessful for some time.

I stare into the sun
I'm facing my fears and not avoiding them anymore, even if it's painful and uncomfortable to do so.

I feel stuck and limited by my current circumstances and environment, unable to escape or move on from my problems.

I'm constantly restless and anxious, unsure of what direction to take in life and feeling lost and directionless.

Fear what I've become
I'm ashamed and regretful of the person I've turned into, someone who has brought so much pain and misery to themselves and others.

Where were you when I was dying
I've been going through a lot of hardship and tribulation, and yet, no one was there to offer me help or support when I was in need.

None are we innocent
Everyone has their fair share of sins and crimes, no one is truly blameless or pure in heart and soul.

Blinded and malevolent
People are often ignorant and hateful towards one another, unable to see the good in them and instead focusing only on their flaws and shortcomings.

You choked my breath
Someone else's actions or influence has suffocated and suppressed my spirit, making me feel powerless and hopeless.

I was gasping
I was struggling to breathe and survive, metaphorically speaking, due to the difficulty of my circumstances and the harshness of life.

A plea to a higher power to heal and protect those who are without parental care or guidance, those who are vulnerable and need help the most.
