Neben zahlreichen ClubKonzerten spielte die Band eine Reihe von Blues-, Rock-, und Jazz-Festivals / Specials, unter Anderem mit den folgenden Musikern/Bands:

Als definitiver Höhepunkt muss sicherlich das gemeinsame Konzert mit B.B. KING, vom 01.12.94 gewertet werden. B.B. KING zeigte sich beeindruckt und begeistert von dieser Band und lud sie nach dem Konzert in seine Garderobe ein.

"I´m no critic. I never would say this music is bad - this music is good. I listen to all kind of music. I listen to jazz of famous jazz musicians and it doesn´t move me. I listen to blues of famous players and it doesn´t moves me. But, yeah, this music does! This music realy moves me. You have a unusual sound, .... realy, a unusual sound. I love this kind of modern blues!
You can count on me, if you like you can use what I said in your papers - I mean what I say. What you are doing is very good. You have a good beat, good arrangements, good horns, good musicians - everybody, it´s well done, the harp is great - what you want more ?

Gentlemen, I'm really sorry that I only could listen to your music for a short time. But I tell you - what I heard was really excellent! Absolutely"

Er möchte einfach die oftmals vergessenen Wurzeln der heutigen populären Musik ins Gedächtnis zurückrufen. Dazu hat er auch das allboutGuitar Blues & Rock Radio,die allboutGuitar - Lessons,AllboutBues & Hot Stuff sowie einige andere Projekte (Social-Networks) ins Leben gerufen.

Well, if you watch and listen they were trading solos...one of my favorite things about this pairing is their styles were so unique yet complimentary that even without the video you can tell who took the lead. As distinguishable as a duet in singing

Albert was a true gentleman. I was in the fifth grade riding bicycles around the venue, and you could tell there was going to be a dance that night in Forrest City, Arkansas (where I grew up). The band was warming up about 4 in the afternoon; so, a friend and me go in to listen (I played guitar) and I walk up to the stage and start telling the guy ; man I play, and he looked at me and said get on up here man, I did. The guy played left handed with strings upside down. I turned the flying "v" over and played the old song GLORIA and the band joined in. Got through and the man was talking about his new acoustic amp he just got. Great guy! went sat down took a nip then took us out to his caddy open the back and gave us a couple albums and signed them, too. That man was Mr. Albert King himself and so kind to a couple dumm fifth graders! It's a memory of a life time still to this day!! Still have albums but the record is scratched from learning those licks that Albert played!

Yes, I agree. Stevie is definitely, as you say reserved. He is holding back, showing utmost respect to a someone he admires and is happy to get to play with on the same level. SRV was on a different playing field. There was Stevie, then everyone else.

@twintriode albert has a phase 90 in his signal... no matter how loud he is the phaser will always let stevie's guitar cut through. Not to mention stevies tone was much fuller anyway.

Mr. King was Stevie's daddy. You damned right he held back. Mr. King said, "Little Stevie is only white boy with a black daddy...and that daddy is me!" Stevie was taken under Mr. King's wing early on life. If you listen...and don't watch...it can be difficult to know who is who bending strings. Mr. King more than anyone else influenced Stevie's playing.

@xenoscoot You guys really need to do some research before commenting.. According to JImmy...Stevie was 19 the first time he met Albert King at (Austin blues club) Antone’s. Where SRV had been playing regularing for awhile. He begged the owner to ask Albert if he could come up and jam with him. (Club owner Clifford Antone) says to Albert you’ve got to let this kid play, because he’s (amazing).”
“Now Albert had heard it all, but he got Stevie up there, and Stevie commenced doing Albert King licks. There was silence at first. Everyone stood there with their mouths open. They couldn’t believe it. But Albert loved it. He put his arm around him, and from then on it was Albert and Stevie. Everybody went, ‘Whew, that was scary.’ I would never have tried that, but you’ve got to admire the audacity.” That was 1976. Albert did not even hear of him again until 1983 .. When first approached about doing the show, King said he didn’t know this “Stevie Ray Vaughan” character everyone was raving about and almost declined, but when he found out that it was “Little Stevie” that he’d jammed with in Texas, he jumped at the chance to play with him again.

Albert King was on another level, man. He played upside-down and still owned that axe like nobody else could. To this day I don't think anyone knows exactly what tunings he used either.

From low to high it’s DGDGBE tuning, down 1 & 1/2 steps, so it’s B-E-B-E-G#-C#

I know this because I’ve got the Hal Leonard guitar tablature book for this session

And that’s some of the reason why he’s able to bend two steps. He’s bending downwards and it’s easier to bend strings that are tuned down

Doyle Bramhall II plays like this and is an absolute monster. Not to mention he plays a lot more full chords than Albert . That's more mind blowing than the lead part. ( he's Claptons guitar player if you've never heard him) . Also has his own albums as well

Its not upside down. Thats a left handed flying V. See where the control knobs are its below his hand not directly in the way of his playing. If it was a right handed guitar that he flipped over to play left handed his v/t controls would be directly in front of his picking hand not below it .

Bullshit.. He'd jammed with him before when Stevie was only 19, in Austin.. He was blown away by how many of his licks the kid could play. And play well. . He didn't have to take a back seat to nobody by 1983. When King was approach about doing this show,, he said he didn’t know this “Stevie Ray Vaughan” character everyone was raving about and almost declined, but when he found out that it was “Little Stevie” that he’d jammed with in Texas, he jumped at the chance to play with him again..Respect was both ways. They were both accomplished professional by then.

This is one of those sessions where less is so much more. Stevie did a great job being complimentary and staying within the genre. Probably playing at 10% skill but 90% touch. Its very easy to play too much, its incredibly difficult to keep it tight like that, especially being in Stevie's shoes.

I remember seeing Albert King at Antones in Austin in the 70s and it was an incredible show. Stevie Ray was a giant as well. I feel lucky to have lived during that era when Austin was such a great music town. RIP both of you.

kerry mcmanus another one from Sydney here , yes this so awesome indeed , late Texas sheriff Mr. Albert King and late Stevie Ray Vaughn , Texas have some of the biggest guitarist, Reverendo Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and my all time favourite late albino Johnny Winter .
Yes this is really amazing I love both so much , Albert King is one of a kind .

I came here after hearing Ricky Duran sing this on The Voice USA Dec 2019. Dude tore up that guitar solo.

Neon1234 they are implying that the blues scales are not too entirely complex, but what these people don't understand is that the control of finger pressure and position and strumming strength make all the difference in the quality and soul involving blues

When I used to watch this as a younger chap, I though SRV was tearing him up. But now as an "adult" I can see that SRV actually interferes with his expressing at times. Call and holla and keep them blues feels up. They're both greats. I fucking love this session

You dont know what your talking about dude. If Stevie had interfered with anything Albert Collins was doing...Albert would've let him know it... But there was not one hint of that... Anybody that played with SRV ever had a bad thing to say about his playing, even as a 15 year old kid.

I'm 56 and bought a strat two weeks ago. Before that I thought I was gonna play all my old heavy tunes but Blues has been my new passion and I would agree with your comment. Speaking from a rock and classical guitar background, the blues has it's own challenges, so much to appreciate. From a listening perspective, such a joy, even if it's the blues :)

This is an incredible version of the song! I was so excited when I found it on Rocksmith, but I only get to play 3 minutes and 47 seconds of an eight minute song. Also you only get to play SRV (not that I am complaining though). Thanks for sharing!

Stevie is the voice of modern blues. He had such and impact that whenever I hear blues I think of how he would have played it, or how it sounds like his playing. Maybe its just me... He wasn't the best lyricist, not the best vocalist, but Jesus when he played slow he was just second to none.
